The Department of Radiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor.
Responsibilities include attending on the Breast Imaging service Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH), as well as teaching and mentoring medical graduate trainees and students. The Breast Imaging Section is part of the Lynn Sage Comprehensive Breast Center (LSCBC), where state-of-the art care is provided to patients with breast diseases. The LSCBC is one of the largest, most advanced breast centers in the country. Housed in the highly regarded Prentice Women’s Hospital on the downtown Northwestern University Chicago campus, the women’s imaging section provides high-volume breast cancer screening and multidisciplinary care to patients with breast disease. Over 90,000 breast imaging studies and interventional procedures are performed each year including MRI-guided biopsies. Mammography is fully digital with 12 systems including tomosynthesis capable machines, 10 state-of-the-art ultrasound units, a prone tomosynthesis/stereotactic biopsy table, and a 1.5 T MRI system. The section participates in multicenter clinical trials and research and development of new breast imaging technologies. A fellowship program in breast imaging is supported which includes 7 fellows each year.
The Department of Radiology faculty provides clinical services to patients at Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) and its Northwestern Medicine affiliates. NMH is a state of the art tertiary medical center in the North Michigan Avenue area of Chicago, is the primary teaching hospital of the Feinberg School of Medicine and is the academic center of the Northwestern Medicine network of regional hospitals and outpatient centers.
