Position Summary:
The Blum Center for Poverty Alleviation at UC Irvine is a Center for interdisciplinary education, research, and engagement around poverty. The Center at UC Irvine is part of a Federation of Blum Centers, with one at each UC Campus.
Reporting to the Faculty Director of the Blum Center, the Administrative Coordinator provides high-level administrative and logistical support to the Center operations and related activities, including Federation events, meetings, and programs; communications and outreach support, and social media management; and student Ambassadors Council. They will coordinate with various campus and off-campus counterparts to manage the logistics and administration of internal and external meetings, multi-campus conferences, and other collaborations. Serves as the Unit Business Coordinator for the Center and is a liaison with the OVPTL Business Office and Personnel Office, which includes collecting/providing data and information, monitoring expenses, updating and managing operating budget reports, purchasing supplies and materials. The position also oversees and supervises Blum Center student workers and their functions for the unit.

5+ years of experience in administrative support or an equivalent combination of both education and experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor to interact with a wide variety of constituents, such as students, faculty, staff, parents, and the general public.
Ability to provide high quality customer service via various modes such as phone, e-mail, and in-person.
Strong administrative, detail-oriented, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, multi-task, and adjust priorities based on complex workload with frequent interruptions.
Ability to analyze data, produce reports, and suggest solutions.
Accurate typing, grammar and proofreading skills to prepare and edit letters, memos, e-mails, reports and forms.
Skill in interacting with persons of varied social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds to obtain and convey information and promote inclusive excellence.
Skill in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
Preferred:
Experience working in an administrative position within higher education.
Knowledge of UCI's policies, guidelines, and procedures relating to finance and accounting.
Experience working with UCI's financial system, Kuali.
Working knowledge of electronic media and applications, and ability to design and develop social media, web, and print-ready marketing materials.
