The Department of Environmental Health, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Harvard University, is seeking a candidate for a full time Social Media Coordinator to work on the Apple Women's Health Study (AWHS). In the first study of its kind, the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health has teamed up with Apple and the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) to gain a deeper understanding of how certain demographic and lifestyle factors could have an impact on menstrual cycles and gynecologic conditions including infertility, menopause, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). The cycle tracking data from your iPhone and/or Apple Watch (optional), along with participants' survey responses, will help inform the development of innovative products for menstrual cycles, risk assessment, and screening of gynecologic conditions. The candidate will work as part of a large inter-disciplinary team and will develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy for growing the presence of the AWHS social properties.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy for growing the presence of the AWHS social properties
Create and distribute original new media content - particularly promotional videos and photo galleries
Identify and manage opportunities for the study on social channels for contribution and engagement
Utilize analytics and other measurement tools to assess the impact of the study's social media properties and new media on overall marketing strategy
Will create and manage editorial calendar (co-managed by the Project Manager) outlining the strategic promotion of online content - including feature articles, recent photos, blog posts, and multimedia materials - highlighting new study initiatives
Develop and frequently refresh vibrant feature web content for AWHS homepage, leveraging multimedia assets
Create and manage talking points and media related activities for the study leads, promoting the study
Work collaboratively with staff to ensure efficient content procurement, providing technological assistance and training to staff where needed
Must be familiar with social media platforms such as: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.
Participate in vendor relations: engage with consulting firms about social media content and work closely with Outreach and Retention Specialist to ensure strategy is aligned
Performs other duties as assigned
PLEASE NOTE: This position has a term appointment of one year from date of hire with the possibility of extension.

PLEASE NOTE: Occasional night and/or weekend work may be required.
PLEASE NOTE: The primary work location for this position is Boston, MA and in order to be on Harvard payroll, you must reside in one of the following states – MA, NH, RI, ME, CT, VT, NY, or MD. We are also working primarily remotely at this time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Until our return to campus, this interview process and position will be conducted virtually – including virtual interviews, remote onboarding, and remote work. The remote nature of this position is only temporary. Local, on-campus work will be required as a condition of continued employment once the School and this role return to an operational status that supports it. The Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health will support flexible work schedules upon this return, subject to individual departments' business needs.
