Undergraduate Academic Affairs (UAA) shapes, advances, and stewards a world-class undergraduate academic experience for students at the University of Washington. Within UAA, the Community Engagement and Leadership Education (CELE) Center provides students with opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed to contribute to thriving communities. Building authentic community and campus partnerships drive our work. CELE programs are centered around the areas of community-engaged learning, democratic engagement, leadership education, pK-12 student success, and place-based initiatives.
The Operations Manager will work with the Executive Director to assess and develop new systems and processes to improve and support programming activities for the CELE unit. The Operations Manager will work with the Executive Director and CELE programs staff to examine program progress and issues, make recommendations for policy, and implement processes and procedures. In addition, the Operations Manager will coordinate day-to-day CELE program operations. In terms of students, the Operations Manager will focus on undergraduates who are interested in participating in service and community-engaged learning and provide advising and support to students looking to connect with CELE Center opportunities. CELE Center Operations Manager reports to the Executive Director and has the following responsibilities: Program Operations and Student Support (85%) Counsel and advise students interested in CELE programs In collaboration with CELE staff, manage CELE’s social media channels and CELE student Mailman listserv Respond to student inquiries via email, Bookings appointments and office visits Assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations of CELE programs Consult with CELE staff to create policies and procedures for all programs that support CELE programmatic efforts Coordinate Washington Campus Compact AmeriCorps grant administration for CELE Center and UW campus partners (e.g. serve as liaison between WACC, CELE and campus partners; coordinate reporting requirements amongst campus partners; communicate with CELE Financial Manager regarding status updates) Provide operations support for CELE Center events and activities (e.g. scheduling events, room reservations, food ordering) Serve as liaison with CELE financial manager and fiscal specialist to coordinate procurement for CELE Center needs Coordinate recruiting and hiring processes for CELE programs In collaboration with the HR/Payroll Manager, support onboarding processes for CELE hourly and student employees and AmeriCorps members In collaboration with the HR/Payroll Manager, support CELE’s payroll needs (e.g. serve as liaison between CELE staff and HR for one-time payments) Ensure compliance with departmental, institutional and state policies, rules and regulations regarding hiring processes Coordinate background checks in Youth Programs Reporting System for students participating in CELE programs Establish and maintain a supply/inventory system for CELE Center Manage CELE Center email address, DocuSign account and Bookings account Participate in and facilitate CELE Center staff meetings and working groups
EXPD suite operations (10%) Manage CELE Center mega-cube shared workspace for student staff and interns Serve as CELE’s COVID site supervisor, Floor Warden, CAAMS administrator, Husky Ready Plan coordinator and office key coordinator Coordinate mailroom check and support EXPD suite operations with EXPD administrative assistant Serve as a backup to the EXPD suite operations including front desk staffing and operations - Support front desk operations management (e.g. onboarding and training student employees, managing front desk scheduling) - Support facility operations needs - Support EXPD conference room management
Contribute to the functioning of CELE Center, and Undergraduate Academic Affairs (5%) Work with CELE programs to advance the goals of CELE Center, UAA, and the UW. Serve on UAA and campus committees as needed.

Minimum Qualifications BA degree in a related field 2 years of experience in program support and/or student services
Desired qualifications Familiarity with CELE Center programs and operations Experience participating or working with service-learning programs Strong project management skills Strong organizational skills, creativity, demonstrated attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, and deadlines Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently and be flexible, while being part of a team Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
