The Communications Manager, situated in the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR), supports the vast research enterprise at the University of Iowa, which includes administrative and compliance infrastructure, a public health laboratory, and a center for undergraduate research. By working with OVPR and its reporting units to develop and deploy impactful communications through various channels, including to an internal audience of researchers and scholars, this role supports the organization's goals to partner with researchers to celebrate their successes at every stage and to ensure safety and compliance.
The role is responsible for writing and deploying communications via traditional and social media designed for various target audiences, including but not limited to: current UI faculty, staff, and students; media; and the general public. This role also manages high-profile events for the office.
A hybrid work schedule - a combination of remote and on-campus work - is allowable for this position. A remote work schedule may be considered.
