Responsibilities The Business Systems Finance Analyst 5 is directly responsible for successful delivery of finance process transformation, change management and assistance in implementing Infor-Lawson and Oracle initiatives, enabling the Financial Services Administration organization clear visibility and efficient use of the financial data. The Analyst utilizes a deep understanding of finance operations, business challenges and the ability to translate them into solutions. The position is focused on creating standardized definitions and account structures for the Schools of Health initiatives specific to the financial functions in the implementation, support, and post-implementation projects. Works closely with General Accounting leadership establishing priorities and acceptable timelines. Interacts with all levels of Finance, IT, consultants, management, and staff, and works with a high degree of independence, and decision-making, with cross functional teams and subject matter experts. May be required to work outside traditional business hours to meet critical needs of the Financial Services Administration division.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or a combination of experience, education and/or training
Several years of progressive financial analysis experience in an organization comparable to UCDH in terms of budget, size, complexity, and scope of operation is required to understand and answer the complex financial accounting and reporting associated with UCDH and third-party audits
Financial healthcare experience and reimbursement principles mandatory Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP and all applicable statements of the GASS
Demonstrated experience developing written and oral decision-focused presentations and leading groups to consensus within a designated timeframe
Information management reporting experience using relational databases and data query tools to evaluate information from multiple sources. Experience with databases
Advanced knowledge of finance policies, practices and systems (UC-specific strongly preferred)
Demonstrated ability to manipulate and analyze data using query tools such as SQL
Demonstrated qualitative and quantitative analytical skills to independently research, develop, and recommend solutions to complex problems along with the ability to present complex data, visually, orally and in writing, to facilitate decision-making
Advanced interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the organization at all levels
Advanced project management skills, including planning, establishment of objectives, procedures and standards in order to develop and maintain records and paperwork in clear, logical manner
Advanced service orientation skills; excellent skills in management and leadership; advanced ability to use critical thinking, sound judgment, and decision-making skills to creatively solve problems
Advanced knowledge of industry best practices
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Leadership skills to actively participate in building the vision, mission and goals of the organization
Special Requirements This position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
