The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine has an opening for a Therapeutic Interventional (TI) Clinical Senior Research Assistant OR TI Clinical Research Assistant 2. The position will be classified depending on the applicant's experience in the field of research. Your application will be considered for all available positions within the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Division at OHSU at this level. TI Clinical Research Assistant 2 ($47,902 - $65,912)
TI Senior Clinical Research Assistant ($52,752 - $72,490)
The PRISM lab conducts clinical trials on COVID-19 patients and other critically ill patients admitted to the intensive care unit or other parts of the hospital to help improve clinical outcomes. All research personnel working with PRISM should expect to be on campus and come into direct contact with COVID-19 patients and blood samples with COVID-19 and other pathogens, using CDC-approved personal protective equipment (PPE).

Function/Duties of Position
The Clinical Research Coordinator is a highly organized and motivated individual who assists with multiple ongoing clinical trials related to Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine. The coordinator will perform study procedures per the research study protocols and regulatory requirements, including:
Participant recruitment, data and specimen collection, organization of study records, and study invoicing.
Coordinate with clinical, research, and pharmacy units at OHSU as well as with external organizations such as sponsors, clinical research organizations, and regulatory bodies.
Supervise and train student workers and volunteers. Other duties may include contract administration and invoicing, protocol administration, manuscript and report preparation and editing, and regulatory responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
TI Senior Clinical Research Assistant:
Bachelors Degree (4 yr) with major courses in field of research AND 1 year of relevant experience, OR Associates Degree (2yr) with major courses in field of research AND 3 years of relevent experience, OR 4 years of relevant experience.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and complete projects independently
Excellent communication, both written and verbal with fluency in English
Strong computer skills and advanced MS Office skills
Experience with database management
Ability to navigate research site visits with industry sponsors, in-depth knowledge of budget development and clinical trial review
Knowledge of institutional review board (IRB) processes for submitting, modifying, terminating and continuing review of human protocols
Understanding of best practices for clinical research
BLS certification
TI Clinical Research Assistant 2:
Bachelors Degree (4 yr) with major courses in the field of research/ no experience, OR AA (2 yr) and 3 years of relevant experience
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and complete projects independently
Excellent communication, both written and verbal with fluency in English
Strong computer skills and advanced MS Office skills
Experience with database management
Ability to navigate research site visits with industry sponsors, in-depth knowledge of budget development and clinical trial review

BLS certification
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of FDA IDE/IND submission process, eCRIS, eIRB, and experience with REDCap
Familiarity with electronic medical records (preferably EPIC), chart review and medical terminology
Project management skills
Additional Details
Working Schedule:
Due to nature of the clinical trials, research personnel work 10 AM-6 PM or 12 PM-8 PM, including occasional holidays and weekends. Research personnel are expected to share the call schedule, including weekends and holiday shifts, equally with available staff. Shifts are assigned two to four weeks in advance and may infrequently require working 7AM-3:30 PM to help with pre-planned early morning enrollment.
Physical Demands:
Ability to carry and lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to walk/travel to all the division's offices spaces and clinical sites. Ability to drive for travel on occasion, as needed. Ability to stand or sit for up to 8 hours per day.
