Responsibilities The Forecast Analyst 4 performs detailed financial analyses including long range financial analysis, forecasting, pro forma analysis, and business plan development for UC Davis Health. Responsibilities include providing detailed financial analyses supporting the strategic needs of the Strategy and Growth division including business plan development, pro-forma analysis, service line analytics, and benchmark analysis from external data models. Additional duties include the design of complex models for trending, forecasting, ratio analysis (NPV, IRR,) maintaining the debt affordability model, and preparing and presenting information detailing key market factors impacting the analysis to guide strategy decisions.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting or a related field, and/or a combination of experience, education and/or training
- Expert-level experience doing financial analysis with strong emphasis on financial statement / ratio analysis highly desired
- Advanced experience summarizing, analyzing and accurately reporting on large volumes of data using multiple systems in a timely manner
- Advanced experience in taking a lead in assigned projects, seeing project through from beginning to end with little or no direction to a successful conclusion
- Several years of experience in financial analysis, financial statement/ratio analysis, forecasting and modeling and statistical analysis
- Advanced knowledge in accounting and financial management principles, theory and practice including knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles in Governmental Accounting Standards (GASB) environment
- Intermediate to advanced skills utilizing forecast software to model assumption changes and show impacts on financial ratios
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including formatting, Vlookups, IFs, Sumifs, and Pivot Tables
- Demonstrated professional level of analytical, statistical and mathematical skills to conduct complex financial analyses
- Strong communication and customer service skills, including ability to prepare materials for a non-financial audience and to clearly and effectively communicate information to all staffing levels, from departmental staff to senior leadership
- Proven project management skills with the ability to contribute to or lead part of a multi-functional team and to assume responsibility for coordination and completion of complex projects requiring interactions with many individuals
- Highly detailed and accurate with the ability to investigate transactions through multiple financial systems
- Extensive knowledge and ability to calculate key financial ratios including Net present value(NPV), rate of return (ROR), debt service coverage ratio, days cash on hand
- Proven ability to develop executive summaries, as well as detailed financial and statistical reports, including ability to present findings in a professions and clear manner to senior leadership
- Knowledge of PC office tools - Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, Access, or similar software - to problem solving and report production
- Proven ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and produce quality work while meeting deadlines
Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree (BA/BS) in Finance or Accounting
