The Social Media and Digital Content Coordinator will be responsible for the creation, administration, content management, and advancement of social media and other digital communications in order to increase visibility, engagement and audience for the School of Nursing (SON). This position will work in close collaboration with the Marketing and Communications' editorial, creative, media relations and other marketing staff to enhance external and internal communications. The position will report to the Web Administrator.
Specific duties & responsibilities:
Social media management (50%)
Develop compelling content for social media and other digitalcommunications (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Tiktok, LinkedIn, blogs, etc.)
Create and implement a metric-focused social media plan and individual campaigns
Use research and analytics to direct social media strategy and assess impact
Research emerging trends and advancements in social media and web to make recommendations for their use at SON
Provide monthly assessment reports on the effectiveness of SON's social media
Provide custom reports as needed for use in meetings, proposals, etc.
Identify ways to integrate social media content in digital and traditional marketing materials
Stay abreast of relevant nursing and healthcare news and monitor nursing social media in general and SON competitorsspecifically
Provide social media training to faculty, staff and students as needed
Partner with central JHU and JHH social media partners on collaborative efforts and branding
Assist the SON Dean with social media as needed
Digital content creation (50%)
Work closely with Web Administrator and internal clients at SON to write/develop content for new web pages and revamp content for existing pages, while maintaining consistency in style, tone, andquality of the SON brand
Research emerging trends/best practices in digital content writing to increase SEO
Utilize SEO and SEM strategies in all aspects of content development for website and digital advertising
Write metadata and keywords to optimize pages for search engine optimization
Work with students, faculty, staff, and alumni to produce timely content for the school's blog
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field
Two years related experience in communications, including managing social and digital media accounts
Advanced degree may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of healthcare marketing and communications
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to write clear, concise copy
Demonstrated experience in content creation for web and other digital channels
Experience developing and implementing Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies
Ability to use tools such as Sprout Social, Facebook Insights, and/or other web metrics to evaluate, analyze and contextualize information
Demonstrated ability to employ innovative approaches to digital content promotion resulting in improved readership and audience engagement
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite
Ability to excel in a team-oriented work environment
Excellent time-management skills are a must
