Under the direction of the Director of Admissions, the Assistant/Associate Director of Admissions will provide input into to design and implement an effective outreach and recruitment strategy and admission plan for prospective undergraduate and graduate students. The Assistant/Assistant Director is responsible for implementing enrollment management best practices and office operations to meet the University's new student enrollment goals, University product knowledge, and effective sales and service techniques. The position is responsible for the outreach and recruitment activities, student interviews and counseling, and admission file review for first-year, transfer, international and graduate student populations. The successful candidate will be an individual with a friendly, engaging personality, a positive attitude and a passion for the work, and be customer service-oriented, with demonstrated persistence, commitment, and ability to motivate others. The final level for this position will be determined based on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
Assistant Director Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to)
Assists in developing, implementing and evaluating recruitment strategies for first-time freshmen, transfer, international and graduate students.
Partners with other units within enrollment services to support students from inquiry through matriculation; serves on enrollment services committees and projects, as assigned
Plans, coordinates and participates in recruitment/admission programs, yield events, and information sessions; conducts tours for prospective students and families.
Responsible for timely follow up/action on assigned student populations and admission files.
May serve as the Designated School Official (DSO) for international students and work collaboratively with the University Primary DSO and U.S. Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) field representatives
Utilizes CRM system (Slate) to track prospective student engagement, conduct recruitment data analysis, manage contacts, generate reports and communicate with students.
Travel required to local and regional recruitment and admission functions: some early morning, evenings, and weekends.
Associate Director Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to)
Provides strategic counsel and support to the Director in areas of recruitment and new student enrollment strategy. This includes the development, implementation, and assessment of the strategic recruitment and admissions plans, yield programs, lead sourcing, and recruitment planning at all stages of the undergraduate and graduate admission funnels.
Responsible for training and supervising admission staff on effective recruitment, timely application review, and customer service.
Supports the Director in achieving undergraduate, graduate and international new student enrollment goals, and serves as the lead administrator for the Office of Admissions in the absence of the Director.
Working with the Director, develops and implements effective, recruitment plans; develops target audiences/student markets, participates in admission programs and decisions.
Manages a recruitment territory and special populations such as first-year, transfer, graduate, and international students, as assigned.
Serves on University committees
Creates and executes a comprehensive annual event/program calendar for Office of Admissions.
Prior experience in sales or customer service in a fast-paced environment preferred.
Some travel, evening and weekend work required.
Database management and technology experience in higher education and familiarity with best practices required. Experience with Slate, Jenzabar EX preferred.
Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel using a personal and/or rental car, for recruiting purposes

Assistant Director Qualifications
1-3 years of experience of experience in higher education in the areas of enrollment management, recruitment, admission, marketing or related experience required.
Experience managing and supervising staff and student employees preferred.
Able to prioritize, balance, and manage a high volume of work and complex projects and initiatives.
Engaging personality, friendliness, enthusiasm, sense of humor, positive attitude, persistence, and passion for the work.
Well-organized, accurate, effective, and creative multi-tasker, time-manager, problem solver, and "people person" who is also customer service-oriented and pays attention to detail, is able to prioritize and manage complex projects and priorities, and works with a sense of urgency.
Associate Director Qualifications
3 years of experience of experience in higher education in the areas of enrollment management, recruitment, admission, or marketing required.
Strong supervisory, project management and organizational skills required.
Experience managing and supervising staff required.
Ability to report, interpret and analyze data and reports to support the assessment of admission funnel strategies
Must be a self-starter with demonstrated ability to handle projects from start to finish and strong leadership skills to support the unit's interests and goals as assigned.
Additional Information:
The anticipated salary for this position is $49,000 to $54,000 for the Assistant Director position and $55,000 to $59,000 for the Associate Director position.
