POSITION DETAILS
Reporting to the Associate Director of the Counseling Center, the successful candidate will:
- Maintain highly organized management and administrative systems, archives, and inventories for the department???s activities
- Supervise part-time front desk personnel such as work-study students and temporary staff
- Develop and maintain relationships with outside mental health clinics and referral sources and maintain the referral database
- Provide support for ongoing assessment activities and assist with analysis of results and the creation of reports
- Serve as a department representative in committee meetings
- Prepare, submit, and track departmental requisitions, purchases, and budget allocations
- Act as liaison for all HR related transactions, including onboarding new employees and trainees
- Lead one section of the First Year Seminar course each year
- Plan, organize and implement special events and projects as requested
NOTES:
This is a full time in-person position, work will be on-site in the office. All CUNY employees must reside within a commutable distance to the tri-state area.
Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication, interpersonal, managerial and administrative skills
- Excellent writing, editing, organizational, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- 1 year experience of managing/supervising staff preferred
- Knowledge and experience in CUNYfirst systems highly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SPSS, EXCEL, and competency with digital and/or web-based tools
- Proficiency with analytical and statistical research and reporting
- Commitment to the values of social justice and public education and appreciation for work in a diverse and fast paced work environment
- Ability to prioritize competing tasks in a deadline driven environment with time constraints
- Ability to uphold strict confidentiality
- Ability to easily develop and maintain collegial relationships in a complex college community

- Conducts internet and/or database research and performs basic systems queries to locate information related to department activities.
- Maintains department fiscal plans and budgets; assists in budget administration and invoice processing.
- Provides basic information, instructions, and materials as requested by students, faculty, and others who contact the department.
- May supervise office staff and student workers.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
