Job Description:
The Training Program Coordinator, reporting to the Training Director, has a key role in facilitating, organizing and improving the day-to-day functioning within the Administrative Core.  The Training Program Coordinator will provide coordination, support, and project management for the Administrative Coreâ™s goals, priorities, and metrics, including its internationally recognized postdoctoral training program. This role will coordinate and integrate complex activities for the Administrative Coreâ™s leadership team and multiple active sub-teams, which are the engine for the depth and breadth of the coreâ™s work.  This includes recruiting postdoctoral fellows, tracking the progress of the core, and coordinating the colloquia and academic programming.Â
The Training Program Coordinator will work alongside the coreâ™s financial team in coordinating key resources for Brown faculty and fellows and educational offerings for scientific leaders at Brown and around the country. This position processes all financial transactions, tracks and analyzes program expenditures, monitors budgets, reconciles accounts in accordance with federal guidelines, and develops an annual program budget.
This position collects, analyzes, and maintains data, including documenting progress of individuals involved in the program, preparing annual reports of this progress, and ensuring compliance with all grant criteria. Â This position coordinates annual NIH progress reports and grant applications for the program.Â
This is a busy and complex position requiring a high level of judgment, initiative, systems-thinking, attention to detail, project management, prioritization, follow-through, diplomacy, and confidentiality.Â

Education and Experience
â¢Â   Bachelor's Degree and at least five (5) years of related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
â¢Â   Previous financial experience required.Â
â¢Â   Experience administering an education/training program is preferred.
â¢Â   Experience with COEUS, InfoEd, NIH ASSIST and Workday is preferred.Â
â¢Â   Demonstrated knowledge of the NIH Public Access Policy and related compliance tools preferred.Â
â¢Â   Coursework in addiction, substance abuse and/or psychopharmacology is preferred.Â
â¢Â   Experience with NIH grants policies, procedures, and systems preferred.Â
â¢Â   Experience working in an academic or hospital setting preferred.
