We are seeking a full-time Controller/Accounting Manager to oversee a range of financial, accounting, and human resources-related functions.
Responsibilities include:
Finance/Accounting
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll
- Ensure high-quality invoicing and collection procedures
- Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Perform technical accounting issue research and resolution
- Evaluate business performance against budget
- Develop forecasts to provide an accurate projection of financial performance
- Review monthly consultant billables and present productivity report.
- Create and maintain accounting and finance policies, processes, and procedures
- Revise or create new policies and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Prepare necessary forms and reports to comply with state and federal tax reporting requirements
Contracts
- Prepare and execute client contracts that align with the scope of work
- Oversee and monitor contracts to ensure billables do not exceed contract amounts
- Create and maintain relationships with suppliers/vendors and serve as the singular point of contact for matters concerning contracts
- Prepare and execute contracts and non-disclosure agreements with employees/consultants
- Monitor contracts and move forward with close-out, extension, fee increases, or Renewals
Human Resources
- Generate official internal documents such as offer letters, salary increases, and employee performance improvement letters
- Create onboarding plans and educate newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures, and regulations
- Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents and benefits
- Review and monitor monthly payroll deductions and PTO
- Resolve employee issues with benefits administrators and insurance providers
- Provide new hires with explanations of benefits and instruct them on enrollment and fulfillment procedures
- Ensure the firm's policies and procedures are compliant with laws and regulations
Qualifications
- Experience with an entrepreneurial or startup company in a professional services/consulting industry is ideal
- Experience working as a financial/accounting/operations generalist
- Organized professional with demonstrated ability to multitask
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/operations experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Time
- Microsoft Excel skills

While the position is remote, the Controller/Accounting Manager will attend occasional in-person team meetings. We will consider applicants interested in working 30-40 hours/week for this employment opportunity. The salary range is $80-100K, depending on experience and hours/week.
