Position Summary
This position is the point person for all systems related activity in SFS, including providing user support, maintaining a detailed knowledge of how departmental and related university systems operate, and ensuring the ongoing integrity of the data housed in SFS systems. Additionally, the employee should be familiar with the systems and software currently in use within the financial aid industry and continually be on the lookout for new technologies that will allow SFS to deliver exceptional customer service more effectively. Since Fall 2020 SFS utilizes PowerFAIDS to administer financial aid.
Job Description
The position will be located in an open office environment. Position may work remotely as situations arise. Travel and attendance at events on and off campus is necessary. Work outside of normal business hours is necessary, throughout the year.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Serves as the SFS point person in working with WUIT and with IT professionals from other areas within the university. This includes being the SFS point person for all IT project related activity, including access management, troubleshooting, writing and submitting project definitions, pre and post-implementation testing, and creating test plans for SFS projects. As the point person for systems related issues, identifies data inconsistencies â“ mainly through review of audit reports, investigates them and works with Information Systems in getting them resolved, if necessary. The Systems and Integrations Specialist will support phase 2 and 3 of the PowerFAIDS implementation project and will also be involved in supporting the universityâ™s transition to Workday Student, also known as the Student Sunrise project.
- Responsible for understanding government regulations and establishing new procedures and processes for maintaining compliance within strict deadlines. Award, process, and reconciles federal grants. Manages and implements the monthly Pell Grant origination and disbursement processes and reconciles Pell Grant data between internal systems and the Department of Education.
- Ensures the accuracy of the Needs Analysis Rules through a thorough knowledge of them. Applies updates as necessary based on changes in WU need theory and changes in Federal Title IV regulation.
- Coordinate and audit communication between government and institutional systems to ensure reliability and continuity of data. Manages and implements the ISIR, CSS Profile, and IDOC download processes and resolves held record statuses.
- Serve as a member of the SFS Leadership Team and serve as the technology expert on the SFS Leadership Team.
- Lead systems administration for seven systems including government and institutional programs. Provides support when departmental personnel and campus partners have SFS systems related issues. Provides training as necessary ⓠincluding training of new staff members and campus partners.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- A business or systems related graduate degree.
- Direct experience with PowerFAIDS.
- Knowledge of various activities within system operation, including FTP, system/database access, and experience with enhancement, development and integration of complex student information systems.
- Experience in the financial aid industry.
- Knowledge of SQL.

Required Qualifications
Bachelorâ™s degree and three years of related experience or equivalent education/work experience to equal seven years.

Salary Range
$53,900.00 - $92,200.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
