Basic Function and Responsibility:
The Grants Manager: STEAM-H and Special Projects will develop a strategy for STEAM-H areas of the college including lead the pre- and post-award responsibilities for Federal and State grants that support STEAM+H fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics and Healthcare)?including researching, writing and editing proposals, and monitoring post-award grant responsibilities including programmatic compliance with funding agencies, stakeholder communication, and work with accounting on fiscal compliance including budget monitoring, reporting and use of funds. Partner with faculty, staff, administrators, and other stakeholders to provide grant-related guidance, support, and information.
This position will be responsible for the supervision of the Center for Promoting STEM Coordinator and possibly to include future STEAM-H related grant funded positions as funding allows. This position may possibly supervise graduate interns or student employees.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop an external funding strategic plan for STEAM-H areas through stakeholder input that is in alignment with institutional goals and priorities. Research, analyze, identify, and vet funding opportunities, analyze findings and present to college stakeholders (including Deans and Vice Presidents) in order to make recommendations regarding the pursuit of external funding.
Lead concept-development programmatic efforts through collaboration with programmatic experts, administrators, faculty, and staff to develop projects appropriate for external funding; convene and facilitate project development meetings, research concepts; prepare drafts for internal review, develop budgets.
Lead pre-award efforts for all STEAM-H proposals including writing, editing, proofreading, assembling, and duplicating. Partner with the applicable Principal Investigators and other internal and external stakeholders in writing the grant to meet both programmatic and grant specifications, develop budgets, and execute the submission.
Monitor grant progress and budgets (including monitoring expenditures) to ensure programmatic and funding agency compliance requirements including but not limited to GATA and Uniform Grant Guidance (2 CFR � 200). Act as liaison between State, Federal, and private funding agencies and the College providing guidance to project directors, administrators, and staff. Work with accounting to ensure fiscal compliance. Facilitate problem resolution. Maintain accurate and detailed files and records.
Develop letters of inquiry, submission, agreement, commitment, and other support for appropriate signatures; draft agenda items for the Board of Trustees, and other grant-related documents as necessary.
Serve as contact person with external partners for collaborative proposals including serving as lead agency, lead writer, budget developer as the situation warrants. Ensure regular communication between the institution and collaborating partners is accurate, timely, and professional.
Research and apply federal and state regulations that may affect active grants and prospective proposals and maintain current knowledge of such regulations. Monitor grants and budgets to ensure compliance with programmatic and regulatory requirements of funding agencies, and work with the Controller's office to ensure fiscal requirements are met and maintained. Act as liaison between funding agencies and the College providing guidance to project directors, administrators, and staff. Facilitate problem resolution.
Ensure all records, documentation, and communication are available for audits and assist the accounting office with external audits as needed.
Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision for the Center for Promoting STEM Coordinator.
Represent and/or serve on various professional organization committees and College meetings/committees as directed.
Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications and Working Conditions:
Bachelor's degree in Business, STEAM-H related fields, Education or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired as necessary.
A Grant Professional Certification (GPC), or equivalent, is preferred.
Five years of professional writing experience, including proven success in proposal development is required. Proven success in proposal development and grant writing grants is required. Demonstrated knowledge of National Science Foundation required. Experience in a community college setting is preferred. Experience with pre- and or post-award experience with the National Science Foundation is strongly preferred.
Must have excellent skills in concept development and research. The ability to write, edit and proofread reports and proposals is required.
A level of interpersonal and communication skills to enable the facilitation of project development teams and be able to inform and persuade College faculty, administrators and staff, community partners, and granting agency representatives is required.
Must have a level of analytical skills to analyze data and to interpret and explain College practices and policies and funding source requirements.
Project management skills or evidence of ability to lead and manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
Requires the ability to meet deadlines and to effectively handle multiple projects.
Intermediate spreadsheet and advanced word processing skills required in addition to website and database literacy.
Ability to interact professionally and tactfully with people of different levels of education, cultural backgrounds, and life experiences, and to exhibit an adequate level of respect to fellow employees and the College community at large.
Physical Demands:
Work is performed in a general office environment and is sedentary in nature. Little or no exposure to adverse working conditions.

Administrative supervision is received from the Director of Grants and Alternative Funding.
Supervision Exercised:
Supervision of the Center for Promoting STEM coordinator. May also include student employees or interns.
HOURS: Monday - Friday 8:15 am - 5:00 pm
SALARY: $59,443
Based on the needs of the college and with Administrator approval, some positions at the college may have remote or hybrid schedule options available. Please note, that during the 65 working day probationary period, employees are required to report to campus.
