Job Description: What We Are Looking For
The Campus Space Planning Manager supports the Director of Space Planning & Interior Design, along with the entire Facilities Management Department, and is responsible for understanding the technical aspects of managing the campus mapping in AutoCAD, Revit, GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and the CAFM (Computer Aided Facility Management) system and for maintaining accurate records and files necessary in achieving the University's goals as related to space utilization.
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, three years of related experience, and a Christian faith are required. A combination of education and/or experience to equal six years will be considered.

The successful candidate will also possess the following:
Proven work experience as a GIS technician
CAFM experience is preferred
Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft SQL or similar reporting software is preferred
Preferred experience in architecture and understand building design and construction documentation
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365; SharePoint and Power BI experience preferred
Preference given to experience in creating dashboards and exporting data for strategic planning purposes
Have excellent organizational, planning, and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with working in a higher education environment is preferred
Driver's License - Must have a valid driver's license
What You Will Do
Facilities space information management with broad knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, GIS, CAFM, with an emphasis on floorplans, space data management, analysis, and reporting
Develops and maintains databases necessary for architectural, engineering, and campus management practices including facilities management, environmental management, site plan development, utilities design and maintenance, architectural floorplans, existing conditions mapping, future developmental plans, emergency response systems, inventory real property management, and other planning systems
Works with the Campus Space Planning Specialist to verify University space, manage data integrity and accuracy for all research, academic, administrative, auxiliary, and all other spaces
Assists Facilities Management (FM) team members in updating, maintaining, and gathering data and providing spatial analytics for capital planning, campus improvements, and strategic initiatives
Is proficient in using AutoCAD and maintains and manages the ArcGIS Enterprise system
Supports the ISSG (Institutional Space Support Group) and CAPG (Capital Asset Planning Group) with space allocation information, floorplans, and other products, and provides recommendations to Facilities Management leadership and directly to the ISSG and CAPG on space allocation matters
Prepares and delivers written, oral, and graphic presentations for executive-level audiences, and maintains proficiency in computer software applications for planning analysis, graphic presentations, database management, and the other computer applications used by the Department.
Collects and oversees University assets for GIS apps and maps and facilitates any changes in GIS related to Facilities and Operations
Serves as the primary interface with the CAFM integration vendor/partner leading procurement and upgrade efforts, and obtaining system troubleshooting assistance as needed
Works with the FM staff to maintain digital plans, PDFs, scanned drawings, digital files, and information of all buildings and infrastructure systems, from current and past projects
Works with the contracted service provider who manages the CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) to keep up to date on all space changes
Works alongside the Campus Space Planning Specialist and assists in the bi-directional pull from the Record Drawing Files to ensure accurate building names, room names, numbers, departments, and FICM (Facilities Inventory and Classification Manual) codes
Directs 3rd party space management professionals during space allocation studies and audits
Works with Baylor ITS Dept to ensure systems, software, and security are properly aligned with Baylor protocol
Assists in training administrative users on the space management system to accurately audit, record, track, and report space allocations
Works with the Office of Vice President for Research (OVPR) to define and specify the process of data collection, analysis and dissemination of data related to research grants, funding, and principal investigators as they relate to space and funding
Maintains electronic data integrity and shares data as requested by departments for space surveys
Provides information on space and square footage to Financial Services for the F&A Rate (indirect cost savings)
Keeps abreast of emerging technologies to ensure project programming will not prematurely become obsolete
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
Ability to comply with university policies
