St. Mary Academy-Bay View is seeking a Lower School Technology/Media Integration
Specialist for the 2022-2023 school year. The candidate is responsible for teaching technology literacy, leading programs that foster student-centered teaching with technology, and overseeing the library to build on the school’s excellence and guiding it toward future possibilities. Candidates must be committed to an all-girls and Mercy education.
Qualifications:
? Champion project-based learning experiences, including interdisciplinary design
challenges including STEM and digital storytelling by working with Lower School faculty
? Conducts weekly lessons for classes, PK-5 that demonstrate a passion for and extensive knowledge of children’s literature, publishing trends, and authors; promotes literacy and reading for fun through special programs such as National Library Week, summer reading lists.
? Keep necessary library records, such as usage statistics, maintain LS library catalog,
collaborates on the annual Book Fair
? Teach Computer Science classes in grades PK through 5 on computer basics and
procedures, coding, robotics, online research skills, creativity with tech tools, software
programs used at Bay View (e.g. Google Classroom), and beginning coding.
? Has experience with tools such as Code.org's CS Fundamentals curriculum, Scratch
software, Edison and KIBO robots.
? Advise teachers and families on digital citizenship and emerging technology trends
? Support teachers to integrate technology into lessons and projects
? Participate in ongoing professional development on emerging technologies, curriculum design, and pedagogies relevant to instructional technology
? BA/BS degree in library science or related education, Master’s degree preferred
