JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for supporting all public-facing matters regarding prominent Fellow at the Hoover Institution. Includes public relations management, network management via social media, event planning and production, marketing, podcast productions. Will develop articles and content to support defined research. This role requires discretion, flexibility, disciplined organizational skills, ability to multi-task and attention to details. Some travel required.
CORE DUTIES:
Research and Writing:
Research, write and pitch articles to media sources, and manage final publications
Research and help develop content for speaking events and articles.
Manage research database - Independently research and track issues important to work, including for upcoming articles and speaking events.
Media Management:
Produce Podcasts including ad sponsorship contracts and relationships, writing and recording ads, booking guests, preparing podcast content, developing podcasts, quality maintenance, final product publication, and marketing.
Handle all Social media management including developing content, producing content and tracking analytics for Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
Manage the website, including development and maintenance as needed, plus regular content updates and managing web subscriptions
Manage all media requests, interviews, blurb requests, statements and essay requests (all public relations).
Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Anticipate and track initial dates, events and associated action items; follow up with appropriate parties on behalf of supervisor to ensure deadlines are met.
Administration and Support:
Develop and oversee overall budget and spending, including events and travel.
Financials management including handling invoices and tracking payments, plus approving and tracking payments for independent contractors.
Liaise with Hoover and foundations including regular collaboration, maintaining donor relations, and event management.
Manage intern including providing assignments, reviewing work, and weekly calls.
Handle book and speaking tours, including event development and execution.
Direct and handle all relationships, legal, content, administrative, correspondence,
Travel with Fellow for speaking events and book tours, including all travel bookings and speech preparation. Assist with execution of these events. Prepare reports and analyses and make appropriate recommendations or conclusions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience or combination of education, training, and relevant experience. Advanced degree may be required. For jobs with financial responsibilities, experience managing a budget and developing financial plans. Master's degree preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent oral, written, and analytical skills, exhibiting fluency in area of specialization.
Ability to oversee and direct others.
Basic knowledge of managing budgets and developing financial plans.
Experience with WordPress, Microsoft Offices, RSS feeds (podcasts), Evernote, Social Media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube
Ability to take direction and multi-task with limited supervision
Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with high profile stakeholders, including staff, board members, external partners, investors, and donors.
Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
The ability to work in a team but also to be highly effective independently.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer/client service and partnership environment.
The ability to work behind the scenes, while monetizing the founder's mission driven vision.
Desired/Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent research skills.
Experience with and basic knowledge of/ skills in the production and management of podcasts, social media, websites, and publishing platforms.
Strong interest and/or experience in current affairs, academia, and politics.
Occasionally use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 40 pounds.
Rarely sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.
Ability to use voice to present information/communicate with others.
