The Client Services team supports departments under the UHR umbrella in delivering university-wide programs for Stanford faculty and staff. This position is located at the Stanford Redwood City Campus and will be considered for an option of hybrid work (splitting time between on-site and remote work), subject to operational need.
Your focus: As a Project Manager with UHR, you will be required to drive, monitor, support, and deliver a range of human resources projects, coordinating with multiple stakeholders. This role will manage large and complex projects focusing on creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone is welcomed, valued, and empowered to achieve their full potential. You will need to be a quick learner, who can manage multiple tasks across multiple projects and be able to leverage and apply your experience effectively. Core duties:
Perform the full project management lifecycle experience from scoping through delivery and can confidently navigate and prioritize business needs, resource management, schedules, and financials to successfully navigate and deliver all aspects of the assignment.
Manage and deliver large projects on time, within budget, and to a high level of quality. Including management of risk, schedule, quality, communication, and 3rd party partners
Independently lead and direct projects requiring high levels of functional integration and involving multiple disciplines to be managed.
Work across departmental functions and interact with business partners beyond our own department.
Direct development of a project plan, and estimate requirements for resources, including management, labor, materials, and time required to complete a project.
Facilitate discussions and negotiations to drive recommendation consensus.
Document solutions so they can be easily understood and configured as needed by program and process owners.
Provide clear project and executive-level status reporting.
Establish and run a regular governance forum across stakeholder groups.
Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement.
Contribute to the best practices and continuous improvement of project management to support the evolution of the UHR team.
What you need to be successful:
Proficiency in project management tools including project charters, project plans, roadmaps, risk registers, issue logs, decision-making models, change logs, and reports.
Strong quantitative skills and the ability to correlate data to produce actionable insights.
Demonstrated ability to organize work and manage multiple projects.
Ability to productively assemble, engage and lead cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated project management ability to employ integration, scope time management, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement components.
Demonstrated resilience, diplomacy, influence, relationship building, and problem-solving skills in a variety of situations.
Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and with team members
Strong consultative, presentation, and written communication skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to accuracy
Desired qualifications and certifications:
5+ years of experience managing complex projects within a higher education environment
Experience using Smartsheet, Google forms/slides/documents, Slack, Miro, Adobe creative suite, and similar applications and platforms.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certified completion of a Project Management Institute program or certification in process desired.
Scrum Business Owner certified completion of a Scrum Alliance program or certification in process desired.
