The Student Life Coordinator (SLC) will be responsible for supporting dynamic and robust student life offerings that foster a vibrant, positive, and safe school climate at OHS. Under the direction of the Director of Student Life, the SLC will collaborate with the Student Life team and other school staff members to design and run in-person and online student life opportunities to encourage a sense of community between peers, instructors, and staff. The SLC will support an array of existing student-run clubs, in-person meet ups, online assemblies, and educational trips, and will develop new student life activities. The SLC will also promote positive student behavior and encourage age-appropriate student agency and leadership among middle and high school students. The SLC will foster a safe, inclusive and positive school culture and climate; respond to lower level discipline issues; and ensure that students are abiding by school policies as outlined in the Family Handbook and Student Code of Conduct. The SLC will collaborate closely with all members of the OHS community including students, families, instructors, staff, school leadership, the parent association, and alumni.
**Please note while Stanford Online High School office is located at the Stanford Redwood City Campus, this position is eligible for hybrid work arrangements upon mutual agreement.
Assist with student in-person rosters, club and society rosters and attendance, and student demographic information. In addition, the SLC will use this information to discover trends in attendance and collaborate for future event programming.
Report to the Director of Student Life (DSL) and work closely with the OHS Instructors and Student Support Offices on student issues in school events based on the school policies including discipline and code of conduct. SLCS will also work with DSL to plan and implement logistics and programming of student life events.
Contribute to the further development of co-curricular activities with the school. SLC will assist with (i) reviewing survey data from the past student survey and feedback from the staff and (ii) assessing existing student life programs as well as new activity proposals, in order to support logistics and implementation that best serve the needs of the students.
Assist with online and in-person community programming which involves reviewing and analyzing student/family data to best tailor the events to the community. SLC will work with DSLC to conduct student surveys to evaluate relevant student life programs.
Under the supervision of DSL, the Student Life Coordinator will contribute to the creation of in-person and online student event marketing materials as well as assist in the planning and execution of the activities such as Pixel Festival, Pixel Gathering & Graduation, Club Fair, and Seasonal Assemblies. SLC will work closely with the OHS Marketing Team on the production of the corresponding marketing materials.
Work with students to counsel and encourage positive behaviors aligned with the OHS Codes of Conduct.
Will represent the Office of Student Life at online, in-person, recruiting events, and within the general Stanford community, and support school staff for understanding the programs and logistics of the student life event.
Collaborate with the OHS Business Office under the supervision of DLC to ensure proper financial protocol for student trip and activity payments and assist other administrative and financial processes for logistics of student life events
Will frequently work on team projects with other offices such as Admissions, Advising, and Counseling to enhance the student experience at OHS and carry out student activity projects,
May participate in the training and supervision of contingent summer employees, student workers, and parent volunteers.
