Nexus courses offer a broad array of interdisciplinary technical professional certificates, short courses, webinars, and custom programs that are taught by faculty from across campus and experts from industry. This position manages assigned custom, open enrollment, and other programs for Online and Professional Education. The primary objectives are to ensure growth through program quality, client satisfaction, and faculty satisfaction while contributing to team goals and meeting quality standards and budget expectations. The focus of this position will be managing operations of the Nexus portfolio. This position reports to the Assistant Director for Business Engagement, Marketing, and Program Operations.
70% Manage Nexus Portfolio for Open Enrollment and Custom Programs
Serve as project leader for all operational facets of the non-credit program scheduling, delivery, and follow-up for open enrollment, custom, and other program deliveries
Have solid knowledge and be inquisitive about program of study and value proposition
Collect and assemble program materials from faculty and others
Ensure quality of all program materials both printed and digital
Monitor and confirm budget expenses for each non-credit public and custom course
Work with the faculty team, directors, and marketing staff to conduct needs analysis on an annual basis
Ensure client satisfaction with program delivery
First line of response for instructor and student technical issues (e.g. access to course materials, connectivity, and computer problems)
Provide in-class, virtual, and online support to faculty and learners
Adjust course logistics as needed and communicate changes to appropriate stakeholders
Manage program logistics (shipping when applicable), materials, food, and beverage delivery
Create and monitor timeliness/due dates for pre-read and program materials and keep track of a variety of programs in different phases of readiness
Arrange any special program logistics (tours, off-site meals, etc)
Manage special client needs after-hours – non-program networking events and local area exploration
Correspond with the appropriate organizations to ensure that the classroom space, audio-visual equipment, and other faculty-specific needs are functioning well and in place for each program
Work with internal/external suppliers to obtain program materials and services according to university policies and guidelines and non-US jurisdictions.
Collect, review and summarize program evaluations and make recommendations for improvement and implement those approved
Promote continuation of program offerings when possible
Support instructors with course material development and organization either through Canvas or printing
Provide email communication to learners before, during, and after the course offering
Support the scheduling of new offerings and future calendar offerings
Support the scheduling of rooms for course offerings
Support the goals and plans relevant to the promotion and improvement of Professional Education including special projects
15% Instructor Relationship Management
Initiate and develop strong instructor relationships
Liaise with program instructor on program materials, logistics planning, and delivery including the development of content
Act as liaison to the instructors during the program and provide relevant participant feedback
Support all aspects of the course when in progress either in-person or via Zoom depending on the delivery format
15% Business Development
Promote the portfolio/certificate options and custom programs to course participants when applicable
Provide feedback to the marketing and communications staff on program content changes and email communications to participants
Pass on leads for additional business opportunities to the Business Engagement team
A bachelor’s degree and or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience

Previous experience in the development and coordination of executive education programs or events is highly preferred.
Five (5) or more years of corporate or non-profit experience and/or building academia/industry relations
Experience developing and monitoring program budgets
Experience with a variety of classroom delivery formats, including online learning and blended instructional formats
Experience with experiential education
Experience with interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary education
Requires the ability to travel to various locations to conduct work
The person in this position routinely communicates with faculty and corporate executives
The person in this position routinely presents at events and client engagements
The person in this position routinely moves books and class materials weighing up to 20 pounds to class locations or other venues or events
Occasional travel may be necessary
Will require work during early mornings and/or nights
