Fleet Services is a component of the Parking, Transportation and Fleet Services department which is responsible for managing University resources, and oversees all University owned and rented vehicles. The unit is responsible for vehicle lifecycle management, vendor management and rental operations. The department is a collaborative resource for Sustainable Transportation and People Movement.

Responsibilities Under general supervision, the Fleet Operations Analyst provides high-level data analytic support and project management to a broad scope of areas for the Parking, Transportation and Fleet Services department including but not limited to Business Resource Management, Physical Resources, Vendor and Financial management, Asset Management etc. The incumbent provides management and strategic support to Fleet business operations and to PATS and the departments it supports.Responsible for providing strategic and analytical support, making recommendations on fleet business processes to prevent, mitigate and respond to customer issues. Develops and implements internal operational policies, procedures, guidelines and controls. Interprets and applies university regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to fleet metrics including utilization, fleet cost effectiveness, and sustainability, grant administration, and special projects.
Develops business cases for a wide range of Fleet initiatives to support department leadership and provides recommendations to apply across the Health Campus. Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required/ available data elements. Optimizes the performance of enterprise business intelligence tools by defining data to filter and index that add value to the user.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree business administration, economics, statistics, educational administration, political science, or an allied field or equivalent experience/training.
- Several years of experience in administrative analysis or operations research.
- Experience in business management, accounting principles and practices, and enterprise or internal services fund accounting.
- Experience with developing complex budgets, establishing internal controls financial analysis, forecasting and strategic planning to analyze and compile fleet data and reports.
- Experience analyzing workflow and designing efficient business processes to continually review and recommend best practices.
- Experience with fleet database management systems to retrieve and analyze information to form detailed and comprehensive reports and dashboards.
- Computer experience to use spreadsheets, word-processing, e-mail/calendaring and navigation software, and other standard office equipment.
- Independent judgment skills to determine the type of quantitative data needed for analyses and to develop recommendations based on the analysis.
- Strong writing and communication skills to prepare and present documents, reports, proposals for management and correspondence with various internal/external constituencies.
- Administrative and analytical expertise to support Fleet Management business and financial decisions for sustainability planning.
Preferred Qualifications - Valid State of California driver license.
- Certifications in Fleet Management from NAFA or APWA.
- Experience in Fleet Administration, Facilities Management, and Automotive or Transportation industry.
- Experience interpreting, applying and communicating campus accounting policy and procedures to provide advice for management and exchange information.
- Experience with University systems (M5, Tririga, Kuali, MyAggie)
- Experience working with all areas of fleet services.
- Knowledge of Fleet Management Information Systems and /or experience managing a fleet of 100 or more light or heavy vehicles.
- Organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks, meeting multiple deadlines with frequent interruptions.
- Skill to work independently and as part of a team to support management for decision-making and long range planning.
- Knowledge of fleet maintenance and repair best practices, equipment types, functions, and procedures to ensure long asset life.
- Knowledge of automotive and heavy equipment vehicles and equipment, their sub-assemblies, and general maintenance and repair techniques, tools and parts. Specifications development for new vehicles and equipment.
