| UK Healthcare is seeking a Quality Improvement Specialist Sr to apply systems engineering principles to improve health care delivery and transform UKHC into a learning health system. This position utilizes both Lean and the Model for Improvement to provide direction and vision for quality and process improvement at UK Healthcare. This position will be responsible for working with performance analysts to manage a portfolio of measures, developing steps for managing projects to meet deadlines and deliverable, facilitating teams across the enterprise, collaborating with clinical champions through complex and ambiguous situations, and utilizing change management techniques to drive sustainable results.

Given the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need to protect our university community including our students, staff, faculty and visitors, the University of Kentucky is requiring COVID-19 vaccination for all new hires prior to starting employment. Therefore, as of October 18, 2021, all new hires prior to their first day of employment must submit appropriate documentation showing, i) completion of the first vaccination against COVID-19, or ii) completion of the full vaccination series against COVID-19, or iii) approved exemption (medical contraindications or a sincerely held religious belief) through the formal exemption process from the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. For those employees who have completed the first vaccination against COVID-19 prior to their first day of employment, the second vaccination (if applicable) must be completed following the vaccination recommended schedule to be considered fully vaccinated.

The ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of process and/or quality improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, and/or Model for Improvement. The ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while building relationships and collaborating with individuals across the organization is a must. Additionally, project management skills, drawing conclusions from the data, professional communication, and the ability to train others are essential for this position.

Master's degree in industrial engineering, systems engineering or related field preferred. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in project management and quality improvement initiatives.
