As a software developer for Investment and Wealth Management Technology Risk and Control Team, you will engage in a Business Intelligence function, leading data-driven analysis projects. You will engage product owners & business stakeholders to gather requirements and work large datasets, querying against multiple databases and/or off-the-shelf analytics packages.

Specific functions include:

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine requirements and participate projects that transform data from various sources into information used to make risk management decisions; responsible for developing system requirements documents
• Provide data and reporting for analyses relating to business needs gathered from key internal business and technology stakeholders
• Query data warehouses and create standard and ad hoc reporting using data analytics tools
• Create and analyze monthly executive management reports in a fashion that optimizes the user experience, providing recommendations for continuous improvement
• Demonstrate teamwork by collaborating with other technologists and by assisting with training new developers on software development processes, data warehouse use, reporting and data infrastructure. Collaborate closely with all the other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts to which the team has committed. Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions
• Administer reporting portal including page design, security, report libraries, and content additions, revisions and deletions
• Use existing and emerging technology platforms to design, develop and document technically detailed applications. Write new complex systems (a grouping of programs involving multiple levels of table dimension and internal sorts that accomplishes a particular new function), design and code programs and creates test transactions.
• Program well-designed, testable, efficient code. Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites. Conduct reviews of the test Plan and test Data.
• Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to satisfy requirements and solutions. Maintain software functionality and currency (technical debt and gain). Actively participate in code reviews. Integrate software components into a fully functional software system. Apply security and privacy principles.
• Execute full lifecycle software development. Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems. Ensure software is updated with latest features. Participate in deployment process following all change controls.
• Provide application software development services or ongoing maintenance, enhancements and technical support in situations of moderate complexity.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required 2-6 years of experience in software development required.

Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus; should have thorough knowledge of the software development cycle and experience developing Front-End and Back-end.

Experience in using a specific application development toolkit and knowledge of front end and backend development coding languages such as C#, Java, HTML, NodeJS, CSS, JSON, Angular, JavaScript. Must also have knowledge in application frameworks and containerization .

Utilize local meetups to gain and share knowledge.Compiles documentation written by more senior developers of all procedures used in system. Acts as mentor to junior level engineers.
