A job with Student Affairs Marketing provides students the opportunity to work in an agency-like atmosphere where creative problem-solving and collaboration with colleagues lead to the development of effective strategies to build awareness, engagement, and action from target audiences. All Student Affairs Marketing staff will contribute to the creation, implementation, and assessment of various marketing and communications initiatives.
The Multimedia Photographer reports to the Digital Media Specialist and works closely with various members of the marketing team and professional staff/clients from around the Division of Student Affairs. Members of Student Affairs Marketing participate in various meetings, workshops, critiques, and brainstorming sessions as necessary. They will cover everything from major university events, department functions, marketing campaign shoots, as well as take portraits of staff and students. Video projects range from commercials to documentary-style, to 14-second vertical videos for social media.
Storyboards, edits, and creatively enhances videos into professional commercials, presentations, or other formats - through the collaboration with the team and clients.
Edits video footage in Adobe Premiere and graphics in Adobe AfterEffects.
Collaborates with staff and clients to brainstorm video project solutions.
Photographs and/or records events and programs for Immediate use on social platforms and archiving.
Photographs and/or records people, places, and scenes for advertising campaigns.
Photographs and/or records portraits, campus, and other scenes as necessary, enhancing our collection of photographs and b-roll video footage.
Edits and shares photo collections with clients and the team in a timely manner, sometimes same-day edits for posting on social media and other platforms.
Maintains structure of photo libraries to optimize search capabilities.
Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.
Experience editing videos with Adobe Premiere.
Experience creating interactive graphics with Adobe After Effects.
Experience editing photos with Adobe Photoshop, Camera Raw, and Photo Mechanic * Able to work a flexible schedule to cover some evening and weekend events as well as maintaining some office hours.
Experience photographing events in all shooting environments.
A solid understanding of DSLR cameras, lighting, and gathering audio.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
15-20 hours per week.
Desired term of employment: May 9 - August 19, 2022. This position involves some evenings and weekend work.
The student in this role may be asked to continue working into the 2022-23 academic year.
