The Office of Admissions Operations provides strategic planning and operational support for recruitment, marketing, and processing activities, local and enterprise systems, and business processes. The department conducts research and investigation on marketing strategies and technical tools such as those used for web architecture, multimedia production, social media, programming and analysis by lead higher education institutions as well as private sectors to offer the highest level of service to potential and current students for Indiana University.
The Admissions Data Team is responsible for the daily operation and maintenance of technical systems which generate the data needed for recruitment outreach and admissions application processing and review. The team also trains external users regarding the appropriate use of recruitment and admissions data. The team has 9 full time and 4 part-time data management and data communications staff.
Job Summary
Department Specific Responsibilities
Manages the personnel and activities of the Admissions Data Team.
Acts as a project manager for the annual updates of local systems and processes administered by the Data Team.
Serves as a project team member on cross-team or division-wide projects as new solutions are identified for development or adoption.
Plans and prioritizes work based on the business needs and seasonal patterns of functional units.
Manages troubleshooting, customer satisfaction, quality control and analysis.
General Responsibilities
Provides day-to-day operational management of data analysis staff.
Establishes short-term operational objectives.
Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational efficiency.
Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed.
Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling; participates and informs employment decisions for assigned staff.
Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned staff and activities; impacts, and is held accountable for, the performance of team and/or assigned staff.
Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve data analysis operations; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff.
Researches and stays up-to-date on new industry data analysis standards, best practices, and emerging technology; keeps next-level leader(s) informed of trends as well as significant problems.

EDUCATION
Required
Bachelor's degree preferably in computer science, information science, or related field
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
2 years of data analysis, reporting, or related experience
2 years of supervisory experience
2 years of project management experience

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
