The role of the
Program Manager - and overall
Georgetown Entrepreneurship - fits with the overall mission and goals of Georgetown University: to create a culture of entrepreneurship throughout the Georgetown University community, and to ensure that every graduate and undergraduate student has the opportunity to explore and experience what it means to be an entrepreneur and/or have an entrepreneurial mindset. The mission is synonymous with men and women for others as the entrepreneur is innately a job creator and creator of good for society.
The
Program Manager for Experiential Learning in Entrepreneurship has duties that include but are not limited to:
- Support the Georgetown Entrepreneurship leadership team with all administrative and operational tasks, and in particular with the build-out and ongoing execution of experiential learning opportunities (i.e. Georgetown Startup Internship program, Entrepreneurship Minor, Summer Launch Incubator, pitch competitions, special speaker events). This includes the planning, organization and delivery of student programs and special events, analysis of income and expenses, support to the Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, and support of student workers and other personnel.
- Maintain a regular and effective marketing and communications program, ensuring that printed materials, web content, e-newsletter and other digital communications are updated in a timely fashion and accurately reflect the goals, messages and activities of the Georgetown Entrepreneurship.
- Interact with all members of the Georgetown Entrepreneurship team, staff and alumni startups located at the Venture Lab in downtown DC at WeWork 200 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Pivot Fellows, current students, other Georgetown affiliated staff and faculty as needed, and outside employers as needed for the internship program.
- Report directly to the Founding Director of Georgetown Entrepreneurship, and work intricately with the Managing Director as well.
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree
- 2 to 3 years of experience in events management, budget management experience, and student programming
- Strong computer skills particularly with Microsoft Office software applications
- Ability to multi-task and distinguish between essential and secondary tasks during busy periods while paying careful attention to detail
- Excellent and diplomatic interpersonal and communication skills in person, by phone, and email
- Experience with initiating programs and planning events
Preferred qualificationsBasic knowledge of the following
- Georgetown Management System (Workday software) or a similar financial system
- Social media and marketing - that is, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok
- COGNOS enrollment software
- Salesforce, AirTable, or other customer relationship management (CRM) solution system
- Website maintenance and design - WordPress
Work Mode: Hybrid (4 days on campus, 1 day telework). Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University.
