Essential Functions:
Fiscal oversight may extend to other health care organizations for which Family Health West has a Management Agreement. Responsible for providing strategic leadership for the hospital by working as a team member with the CEO and Senior Management to establish long range goals, strategies, plans and policies.
CFO will possess the leadership and vision to guide Family Health West in planning, development and implementation of strategic goals and implementation of sustainable financial systems to succeed in the face of changing market dynamics, competition, health care reform and reimbursement models.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization's fiscal function and performance.
- Knowledge of Critical Access Hospital regulations and continual education on and presentation of these regulations and requirements as it pertains to the financial health of the organizations
- Reports and provides detailed reporting data to include cost reports, budgets, cash flow statement, proforma analysis and key performance indicators.
- Directly supervises Finance Department, Accounting, Audit, Payroll, and identified departments and services, including organization contracts and insurance.
- Participate in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner. Willing leader to participate in or design new programs to insure facility and affiliate success. Seen as the fiscal expert for Family Health West.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action. Assists strategic planning and programmatic development of services lines in providing financial advice and analyses.
- Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports and financial trends in order to assist the CEO, the Board of Trustees, and other senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
- Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce fiscal policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation. Willing to serve as a leader/advisor/senior project manager of process improvement activities related to or involving fiscal operations or information technology use.
- Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
- Provides technical financial advice and knowledge on behalf of Family Health West. Will provide financial advice and guidance as requested by CEO, Board of Trustees and other Senior Team Members.
- Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets. Responsible for Finance Department's preparation and presentation of an annual Operational and Cash Management Budget to CEO, Senior Management Team and the Board.
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization; i.e., evaluation of potential alliances acquisitions and/or mergers, third party payer contracts, contracts in general, malpractice risk reciprocal program (malpractice), insurance programs, self-funded employee health program, provider fee and reimbursement programs for governmental agencies and pension funds and investments.
- Optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash position, including forecasting both short and long term needs. Guides Family Health West compliance with Bond Covenants.
- Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs and agency requirements for Family Health West indebtedness.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Wage Range : The wage range for this position starts at $180,000 annually and goes up based on experience.
