Over the last few years, Treasury Services steadily expanded and enhanced their API capabilities to offer clients and internal partners a truly integrated experience with seamless and real-time interactions for a wide range of offerings, including transactions and data services. With a comprehensive and feature rich package, Treasury APIs are making inroads as the preferred Payment channel, connecting clients to services like Real-Time Bill Pay and Account Validation Services. API client adoption has accelerated in 2021 and with a strong pipeline Treasury Services expects volume to significantly increase over the next year. BNY Mellon continues to position itself as a leader in the Open API and embedded banking space now and in the future by developing newer and enhanced capabilities and by forming strategic partnerships with leading TMS and ERP platforms.
The Digital Product Lead within Treasury Channels team will define digital product strategy and drive product management and development efforts for Digital channel products with primary focus on APIs.
Job Description: - Experience in Digital client access Channels Product Management, operations, client management preferred.
- Understanding of the Treasury Services, Payments and Cash management landscape and trends.
- Experience working on Application Programing Interface (APIs), Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technology within Banks.
- Experience in agile product development and digital banking.
- Familiarity with understanding the full end to end integration experience for the end user and possessing knowledge for the latest and greatest API design principles.
- Familiar and comfortable with how to demo an API-first product by being able to make API request, (JSON), make API calls with Postman, and know how to play around in a developer sandbox.
- Create the product vision and roadmap for API Channel by gathering client feedback and peer industry market research that outlines the evolution plan for the channel and product offering. Leverages strong market knowledge to integrate the demands of various regions and stay ahead of competitors.
- Provides leadership to multiple teams of Product Management, Sales, Implementations, Tech and Ops partners for managing a range of products offered via API channel from development to sales and delivery in terms of product governance, control, and risk reviews, active in helping with the commercialization and market readiness plan to build up adoption and growth.
- Develops ideas for new products and generates buy-in from the business to integrate into pipeline. Considered to be an expert in the field and provides functional insight to support the solution of complex, operational, and organizational problems.
- Own , maintain, and manage the complete Agile product development lifecycle and process: empathizing with the client and discovering pain points and developing use cases, ideating, brainstorming, and designing solutions, creating requirements and user stories. Produce high fidelity product requirements (wireframes, features and user stories) for software development teams to consume.
- Create and execute upon a clear, prioritized, and actionable API product development roadmap based on an informed understanding of client needs, business goals, the competitive landscape, and intuitive sense of where the open banking/API world is headed. Make tradeoff decisions based on technical and business insights.
- Oversees strategy design behind product development and delivery. Ensure alignment and consistency of the API Product Roadmap and capabilities with the overall Global Digital Channels strategic roadmap and with a keen focus on delivering target state digital client experience, collaborate with other members of the immediate Global Digital Channels Product Management team and broader teams to lead and deliver consistent, strategic, future-proof, channel-agnostic solutions for BNYM Treasury Services clients.
- Interacts directly with key leaders across the business and external customers to negotiate and market BNY Mellon's offerings. Demonstrates in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of team's capabilities and an understanding of all products, the marketplace and client needs to drive product growth/development and maximize profitability. Seen as a firm expert on multiple products and product portfolios that are of strategic importance to the firm.
- Develop product collateral materials and commercialization plans to support go-to market strategies. Develop scorecards to measure an monitor the adoption and usage of API services.
- Responsible for revenue goals, profitability, and pricing for all products along with capital and operating budgets.
- Takes an active role in the development and coaching of Product Managers.
Qualifications: - Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
- 12 plus years of total work experience preferred.
- Experience in Product Management, operations, client management preferred.
- MBA or CFA preferred.
- Product Leadership Certification preferred.
- Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business.
