As part of the university's comprehensive vaccination program, all Cornell employees are required to have and provide proof of an FDA-or WHO-authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccine or have obtained a university-approved disability/medical or religious exemption, regardless of their role and work location.
New hires are required to provide documentation showing full vaccination status (that is, completion of two shots of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccine or one shot of the Janssen/Johnson & Johnson) before their first day of work. If a new hire's vaccination is not complete or information is not received by their start date, the first day of work will be delayed. It is possible in some cases that an offer of employment may be withdrawn.

The College of Architecture, Art, and Planning is home to almost 800 students, 100 visiting and full-time faculty dedicated to the study of the art and science of the built environment, and about 60 staff members. A small and vital college in one of the nation's foremost research universities, Cornell AAP has educated many of the most influential theorists and practitioners in the country. We are committed to the belief that architecture, art, and planning are simultaneously intellectual and material practices, and that leadership in cultural production demands both expertise in a specific discipline and wide knowledge in the liberal arts.
Cornell's Ithaca campus is the physical and academic center for Cornell AAP, but given the global nature of our interests, the college has extended its reach to include permanent programs in the historic center of Rome and in what was traditionally known as lower Manhattan's financial district area in New York City. The departments offer additional extensive opportunities for international study across the globe. In Ithaca, the college spans five buildings, including Milstein Hall, historic Sibley Hall, an 8,000-square-foot digital and analog shop facility and the Fine Arts Library in Rand Hall, Tjaden Hall, and the landmarked Foundry building.
This position serves as the College of Architecture, Art, and Planning's (AAP) lead space, event, and security coordinator (AAP). This position's primary responsibilities are as follows:
Space scheduling, review space requests and coordinate resources to meet the needs of the requester. Assist departments and Student Services in assigning courses to available spaces after they have been created and are ready for pre-booking.
Event coordination, including furniture setup and takedown, coordinate with IT Solutions on technology delivery and setup, access to spaces, ensuring events comply with state and federal regulations, and assisting with food delivery and catering.
Works with the Director of Facilities to track how college spaces and other physical assets are used, assists with small projects by providing design and drafting assistance, and contributes to space planning efforts. Keeps the college's space in the university's Facility Inventory up to date.
Oversees the daily security of AAP spaces, including providing card and key access to its community as needed, implementing building hours and access levels as set by the Director, reviewing surveillance video as needed, and recommending security actions, such as the installation of additional cameras or card access hardware as needed.
Maintains a consistent service-oriented attitude when communicating and interacting with AAP faculty, staff, and students. Client feedback must be provided in a timely, accurate, and tactful manner.
There is no visa sponsorship and no relocation funds for this position.
