Integrated Healthcare Delivery System
Novant Health (Novant) has partnered with WittKieffer to seek an operationally astute and collaborative human resources leader to serve as the Vice President, People and Culture Operations ("VP"). In this newly created role, the VP will partner with colleagues on the People and Culture team to advance Human Resources (HR) initiatives by deploying best operational practices related to all aspects of HR delivery. The VP will provide operational focus and rigor to the day-to-day aspects of the department so as to allow the Chief People Officer (CPO) to focus on strategy. The CPO is an innovative and strategic leader who has been diligently evolving HR service and delivery for this dynamic integrated health delivery system for the past two years.
Candidates should be trusted and nimble leaders who are capable of honoring legacies, while inspiring teams to achieve excellence through continuous improvement. The current People and Culture team is a diverse team of talented leaders that have experience in healthcare and other industries. It is important that this new VP establish credibility quickly with the People and Culture team through relationship building and a knowledge of HR best practices. Preferably, candidates will be able to demonstrate a deep understanding of modern integrated health system operations, challenges, and opportunities.
The VP will lead and build a team of professionals that span areas such as Talent Acquisition, Leadership Development, Organizational Design, Talent Strategy, and Workforce Analytics. Also, the VP is responsible for overall People and Culture team operational excellence, project management of large initiatives, and serving in essence as the "right hand" to the Chief People Officer. This will be a highly visible role that requires the executive to be engaged and visible both within the People and Culture team as well as broadly across the health system. Additionally, the VP has the flexibility of living and having a primary office location in either Charlotte or Wilmington, North Carolina.
As a nonprofit health system, Novant is one of the largest and most innovative in the country, spanning North Carolina, Virginia, South Carolina, and Georgia. Committed to improving the health of communities, one patient at a time, Novant's 11 Institutes provide the latest treatments and procedures in a multidisciplinary setting. Ranging from advanced cellular therapies to building artificial intelligence platforms, these Institutes are centered on coordinated care across the inpatient, outpatient, and surgical settings. To best serve its patients, Novant has partnered with other institutions, which include the University of Virginia Health System (UVA), UNC Health, and St. Jude Research Hospital (St. Jude). Most recently, Novant acquired New Hanover Regional Medical Center to support the growth and needs of the communities they serve, focusing on quality and health equity.
