Your day.

As Remote Cogito ETL Admin., you need to know how to:

Provides advanced technical direction in definition, design, creation and oversight of data Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processes between Epicâ™s Cache EMR application database and downstream data warehouses and analytical data stores.

• Performs Clarity and/or Caboodle administration duties. Installs Clarity and Caboodle software components and performs code updates.


• Oversees ETL processes; troubleshoots and works to resolve data integrity issues.


• Communicates ETL process complexities clearly to database administrators (DBAs) and dataset provider teams.


• Works with dataset provider-developers to refine and tune database SQL queries and data extraction methods, makes recommendations based on research outcomes.


• Researches and promotes usage of native database features to enhance ETL and/or query efficiency.


• Creates and modifies database objects and/or Epic software components and reviews operational use of ETL data paths and source/destination databases; modifies and recommends appropriate capacity, structure and/or configuration changes.


• Recommends, creates and deploys database level security structures where necessary.


• Performs traditional DBA activities for underlying DBMS systems if necessary. Makes recommendations to enhance storage and data protection strategies for very large databases.


• Assists in linking data from multiple sources and helps in organizing efficient data pathways for dataset providers and curators. Defines and manages ETL processes and clearly communicate process complexities to support teams.


• Works closely with other staff and technical resources.


• Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Preferred:

• Able to effectively use knowledge of Epic Cache, data warehousing and analytics repositories to enhance Epic Clarity and Caboodle usage.


• Strong understanding of data structures specific to Epic Systems: Chronicles, Clarity Compass and Caboodle dimensional models


• Ability to assist in linking data from multiple sources and help in organizing efficient data pathways for dataset providers and curators.


• Ability to clearly communicate process complexities to multiple technical and non-technical support teams.


• Familiarity with Epic BI reporting, dashboard and data visualization tools


• Can gain familiarity with newer business intelligence and data visualization tools.


• Familiarity with newer Extract Load and Transform (ELT) data warehouse paradigms.


• Regular attendance to perform work on site and/or at approved remote locations during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts is required.

• Ability to work nights and/or weekends is required.

Your experience.

Required:

Three (3) years of experience in the following:

• Managing Clarity and Caboodle ETL processes. Experience with data structures specific to Epic Systems: Chronicles, Clarity Compass and Caboodle dimensional models. Experience with installation and upgrade procedures of Epic Clarity and Epic Caboodle applications.


• Experience in Windows computer operating environments.


• Creating and tuning RDBMS SQL queries and stored procedures.


• Bachelorâ™s Degree in computer science, information services, business administration, engineering, or related field.


• Active recent product version Epic Clarity Administration Certification.


• Active recent product version Epic Caboodle Administration Certification. May attend Epic training and be required to achieve certification within 1 year of hire date.

Preferred:

• Master's Degree


• Three (3) years working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server database administration.


• General knowledge of dimensional data models and cubes.


• Familiarity with Epic BI reporting, dashboard and data visualization tools.


• Active recent product version Microsoft Database Administration Certifications.
