Job Description:
This position is responsible for coordinating and managing operational needs of the Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry (MCB). This position provides support for all departmental shared equipment (manages the repair, maintenance, and licenses), Space audit, equipment audit of all equipment in labs, departmental service contracts, large equipment purchases, lab safety protocol compliance, department website maintenance, department social media, departmental events, courses, faculty recruitment, is a backup for placing orders, and provides administrative support to the Department Chair. This role also manages lab safety compliance and all TrainCaster records, & provides overall support for the MCB Operational needs. It also provides support to the Department Manager and works with the Finance Manager, as needed.
Job Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Required: BA/BS degree and 1-2 years of administrative experience.
Experience and demonstrated skill/proficiency with website maintenance and social media
management;
Experience with coordinating small and large events;
Experience in working on databases to track multiple tasks at different phases;
Or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Competencies
Excellent communication, written and quantitative skills.
Proficiency required in standard word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
Possesses the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus.
