This Hospital Outpatient Department (HOD) Project Manager is responsible for leading healthcare related projects that impact the Professional Services Departments. Responsible for working with Epic Clinical, Healthcare Professional Services Applications, Interface and Epic Business Application teams to organize, monitor and to continually enhance processes for the Professional Services Departments.
This position is responsible for performance that promotes excellent customer service, overall service excellence philosophy and success of the departments. The HOD Project Manager will collaborate with the Associate Hospital Director for Professional Services and other key constituents (Professional Services Directors, Managers and Lead staff) to fully meet the needs of OHSU and partners.
The OHSU Professional Services departments consist of 13 services, 18 unique processes and 14 clinical systems or 3 rd Party Applications. Also includes Professional Service departments at our partner sites in The Dalles, Hillsboro and upcoming Adventist.
Liaison between Professional Services Departments and ITG
Works with vendor and Epic teams to analyze and develop specifications and processes required by the Professional Services Departments
Facilitates customer and Epic meetings to obtain system definitions and design approvals or develop system interfaces/conversions to enhance Epic processes
Complete Project plan with dependencies, critical path and cost benefit analysis to help select the best alternative
Distributes/Assigns tasks related to Professional Services build to Epic Clinical, Interface and Epic Business Applications teams
Escalate time/budget issues to management as appropriate
Coordinate training and implementation of new features, enhancements, etc.
Coordinate ITG/Epic communications to Professional Services Departments
Work with Directors, Managers and Lead workers in each Professional Services department to analyze and evaluate existing operational procedures and site specific clinical systems to determine how to integrate with Epic modules
Work with Epic Clinical, Interface and/or Epic Business Application teams to determine appropriate build to improve workflows and processes.
Participate in determining impact of new Epic Modules that may affect the Professional Services Departments
Participate in determining requirements for new clinical systems that Departments may implement, and determine how it can be integrated with Epic.
Work with Directors, Managers and Lead workers in each Professional Services Departments to analyze and trouble shoot system, operational and billing issues that may result from the implementation of Epic or other third party application.
Work with Epic Clinical, Interface and/or Epic Business Application teams to resolve or determine appropriate solutions
Creates, modifies and updates the Epic Support Desk knowledge base for each service to communicate operational and systems structure.
System (EPIC) Integration:
Participate in additional projects that directly affect the Professional Services departments (Orders Across Service Areas, SER and DEP Master file, ABN, documentation as it interfaces from 3 rd party apps, pre-charting, re-direction solutions, OHSU partner implementations, etc)
This position is currently 100% telework/remoteand may includeremote work long-term. Candidate must be able to work from home full-time initially
Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or related field with 5 years of experience in IT; OR equivalent experience working in a complex information technology environment
3+ years experience in Healthcare Information Systems analysis, development and implementation, specifically EpicCare
