The Data Analyst, Quality Reporting and Performance Analysis is responsible for the measurement and improvement of quality, safety, and value across Dana-Farber???s full scope of services. The Analyst collects, interprets, and presents Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) data, which includes metrics in areas such as patient safety, infection control, blood product utilization, patient experience, patient volume, and utilization of services.??The Analyst collaborates closely with team members in Quality and Patient Safety to ensure the integrity and quality of all data prior to dissemination.?? The Analyst also collaborates with Institute stakeholders and works as an integral member of multiple teams ??? including but not limited to Clinical Operations and Business Analytics (COBA), Clinical and Operational Leadership, Nursing Quality, Inpatient Leadership, Clinical Laboratory, and Imaging ??? to accurately display and interpret quality data to meet a multitude of needs throughout the organization. This role provides key data support to multiple quality committees and teams within Quality and Patient Safety and throughout Dana-Farber.
The Data Analyst will work in conjunction with the Associate Director, Quality Assurance and Value Performance to ensure timely and accurate reporting for all of Dana-Farber???s external quality programs.?? Dana-Farber reports data to federal and state entities under the PPS-exempt Cancer Hospital Quality Reporting (PCHQR) Program, the Quality Payment Program (QPP), and MassHealth???s Pay for Performance Program, all of which have a regulatory or financial requirement tied to participation. The Analyst collaborates to prepare and review data required for external reporting programs, as well as for other Dana-Farber accreditation programs. This role is critical in helping to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care at all Dana-Farber sites of care (inpatient, main campus ambulatory, and network ambulatory).

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilize existing reports and departmental resources to collect data for all reporting needs.
Analyze and validate data in preparation of internal dashboards and external reporting submissions.
Access external reporting platforms to submit and validate data on behalf of Dana-Farber.
Provide quantitative support to any ongoing quality improvement projects.
Provide quantitative support and regular data updates to multiple Dana-Farber committees, including Grievance Committee, Infection Control Committee, Inpatient Quality Committee, and multiple Ambulatory Quality Committees.
Serve as technical expert to compile, clean, analyze, and validate data related to assigned projects.
Assess gaps, errors, and/or unusual results in data. Escalate issues and/or errors with manager when appropriate.
Build reports in external comparative databases such as Vizient.
Understand accreditations and rankings such as The Joint Commission (TJC), The Commission on Cancer, and US News and World Report???s Best Hospitals rankings.
Collaborate with QPS and Institute stakeholders to identify relevant sources of data and plan streamlined data collection.
Communicate regularly with team stakeholders and executive sponsors about data needs.
Build and nurture collaborative relationships with Institute stakeholders, including but not limited to Inpatient and Ambulatory Leadership (Main Campus and Network), Infection Control, Patient and Family Relations, Clinical Operations and Business Analytics, and Nursing Quality.
1 year of experience in data analytics, quality, and performance improvement required; experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Project management, data management, and/or information systems experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Advanced skills in Microsoft suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Knowledge of data management, analysis, and visualization and related business intelligence tools such as Tableau.
Demonstrated data and project management skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively present data to key stakeholders throughout the Institute.
Ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders and work as an effective member of a multifaceted team.
Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and develop new skills and capabilities to help advance work across the department and throughout Dana-Farber.
Ability to develop a strong working knowledge of accreditations and rankings such as The Joint Commission (TJC), The Commission on Cancer, and US News and World Report???s Best Hospitals rankings.
Ability to develop strong skills in building reports in external comparative databases such as Vizient.
