The UW Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC) is looking for an experienced clinical research professional to serve as a key member of the Clinical Research Central Office (CRCO) Operations team, supporting over 250 Investigators and 125 clinical research staff. The Operations Specialist position is newly created to support the growing needs of our clinical researchers, staff and leadership, and to respond to the rapidly evolving landscape of oncology clinical trials. The incumbent will work with CRCO senior management to provide day-to-day operational support to study teams, investigators and collaborators. Additionally, they will participate in the identification, planning, and management of process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing the efficiency of our clinical trials operations.
A successful Operations Specialist must have a strong background in clinical research operations and be effective at working with a wide variety of individuals in order to effect positive change within the organization. The incumbent must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and strong organizational and project management skills.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for a variety of professional level work across a variety of administrative service areas including budget, finance, procurement, and human resources with impact across the institution in support of unit or institutional goals.
25% Implements and executes established policies and procedures for a designated work unit to adhere to unit objectives and to align with established strategies
10% Schedules logistics and secures resources for a designated work unit to contribute to the day-to-day operational success
15% Analyzes data and trends, compiles progress reports, and provides appropriate recommendations or conclusions in support of the assigned operational work unit(s)
15% Assists, recommends, and advises staff on unit or program administrative issues, personnel matters, and budgetary problems
15% Serves on committees and attends meetings, representing the interests of the unit or program
20% Assists in day-to-day clinical research operations and leads and/or participates in process improvement projects
