Title: Community Engagement Events Manager
Reports to: Director of Development
Summary: The Community Engagement Events Manager, a member of the Stanley British Primary Development team, is responsible for designing and implementing strategies, both short and long-term, for increased engagement of all constituencies within the Stanley British Primary School community through substantive events, stewardship, communications, collaboration, and cultivation leading to meaningful relationships. The Manager will be expected to assist with school-related special events that engage any or all constituencies and elements within the Stanley community. This role will also serve as the primary contact for the day-to-day activities of the Parents’ Association, working with the Director of Development to support the PA leadership team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
General Event Management
- Coordinate events sponsored by the development office, including but not limited to cultivation and stewardship events, the upcoming 50th Anniversary, Bingo for Britain, Grand People’s Day, Coffeehouse, Stan Talks, Graduation Dinner, new parent orientation, parent coffees, and other fundraising and community building events.
- Work with appropriate staff and volunteer leadership to conceptualize the event, including the purpose, targeted audience, key themes and messages, location and timeline.
- Identify and manage vendors, including contacts at outside venues, caterers, party rentals, florists, etc. and work with the business office to ensure contracts adequately protect the school.
- Coordinate with the Communications Manager to produce marketing materials (invitations, programs, letters, signage, etc.) and promotions of events via Web site, social media and other communications channels, as appropriate.
- Create, sometimes independently and sometimes in coordination with other members of the community engagement office, briefings for administrators, trustees, HOS, and others on their roles in events, including, if necessary, a briefing packet (guest list, program, script, etc.) about the event with adequate lead time.
- closely collaborate with various departments to determine A/V and technical set up, facilities setup, seating, décor, and event staffing requirements
- Maintain event budget and prepare post event reports
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Development to include, but not limited to: clerical assistance and office management
Parents’ Association
- Serve as liaison to the Stanley Parent’s Association to ensure timely communication and priority alignment between the PA and the school.
- Collaborate with PA leadership and steward the association to help achieve overall goals and mission; the Event Manager will likewise provide guidance and assistance in navigating school systems and processes, and assist events and activities as a strategic partner.
- Coordinate with Communications manager on all PA-related communications, including the PA section of the Web site.
Family Engagement
- Coordinate with Development Office, Administration, and Parent’s association to revise volunteer program, including identifying, consolidating and promoting volunteer opportunities across campus.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of event or project management experience
- Volunteer recruitment and management experience
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Strong initiative and attention to detail
- Superior time management, multi-tasking abilities and team-playing skills
- Passion for education and diversity, equity, and inclusion
- This position demands flexibility and a positive attitude. Must be able to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Proficient with Google product suite and microsoft office
Salary range $48,000-$63,000 commensurate with experience. The salary range listed is just one component of Stanley’s total compensation package for employees.
