Position Title: Leadership Giving Officer for Special Campaigns 

Position Classification: 12-month, staff, full-time, salaried exempt  

Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, with evening and weekend                       service as needed for School events. Summer Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 12 noon, Friday.

Reports to: Director of Development

Position Summary:

St. Christopher’s School, the largest all-boys school in Virginia and one of the largest and oldest boys’ schools in the Mid-Atlantic region, seeks a Leadership Giving Officer for Special Campaigns. Reporting to the Director of Development, the Leadership Giving Officer for Special Campaigns will work closely with the Director of Development, Director of Planned Giving, Leadership Giving Officer, Manager of Special Events, and campaign volunteers to manage the Senior Parent and Grandparent Campaign, the 25th Reunion Campaign, and the 50th Reunion Campaign.  Candidates must possess the highest ethical standards, excellent organizational and communication skills, a collaborative work style, and a commitment to the mission and values of St. Christopher’s School.

Principal Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee three annual fundraising campaigns that support the School’s annual giving, capital, and endowment fundraising goals.  The three campaigns include the Senior Parent and Grandparent Campaign, the 25th Reunion Campaign, and the 50th Reunion Campaign.
• Manage all campaign-related activities for these three initiatives to include, but not limited to: 
• Campaign committee volunteer management, managing and scheduling committee meetings, meeting preparation and follow-up
• Solicit donors and conduct campaign-related research
• Draft and send campaign correspondence and supporting fundraising materials (print or digital), track fundraising progress, draft pledge forms and gift agreements
• Manage campaign related projects or events such as the Senior Parent Party and slide show, the 25th Reunion commemorative Pine Needle, and the 50th Reunion commemorative Raps & Taps, pre-Reunion events, and the 25th and 50th Reunion weekend parties and special requests
• Partner with the Director of Planned Giving and Leadership Giving Officer and other members of the Development team to develop and implement fundraising solicitation strategies to solicit donors and achieve campaign goals.
• Work in collaboration with the Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving, Assistant Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving, and the Manager of Special Events for events associated with the Senior Parent and Grandparent Campaign, the 25th Reunion Campaign, and the 50th Reunion Campaign.

Qualifications and Key Skills: 

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Ability to create basic reports to support departmental/division processes, proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.  
• Ability to travel locally, regionally and nationally (when necessary), and participate in occasional evening and weekend activities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to think strategically and ability to handle multiple activities simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
• High level of initiative, creativity, flexibility, and motivation.
• Candidates should understand the priorities of St. Christopher’s School and must be able to articulate the case for philanthropic support.
