Summary of Duties:The primary function of the
Project Manager 1 is to serve as a Project Manager working closely with WSU user groups to identify project needs and manage expectations through the work of Consultants, Contractors, and WSU staff from project concept through final acceptance. Responsible for development and implementation of interior design concepts, including space planning and other items consistent with furnishing and equipping new and newly renovated buildings. Overseeing furniture budgets, the procurement and installation of furniture and systems, and inspection of multiple projects using a variety of procurement methods.

https://hrs.wsu.edu/employee-types-benefits/Required Qualifications:- A Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field and five (5) or more years of professional architectural, engineering, or equivalent experience which has included demonstrated competence to perform coordination of planning, design, and/or construction of major capital improvement projects. Appropriate professional license and/or one (1) year of supervisory experience may be required. An additional two (2) years of progressively responsible, relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. A Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience exclusive of supervisory experience.
- Ten (10) years construction project management experience, including the supervision of design professionals and construction trades personnel with appropriate professional registration or licensure, will be considered in lieu of an architecture or interior design, engineering degree.
- Two (2) years related experience with demonstrated competence to perform duties.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:- Advanced degree in Engineering, Architecture, Interior Design, Planning or related field.
- Professional registration as an Engineer, Architect, or Interior Designer, including NCIDQ. Experience in analyzing and settling construction claims, and understanding of construction contract administration.
- Experience with administering consulting architect and engineer contract requirements.
- Experience utilizing project control tools to evaluate cost and schedule impacts on ongoing construction projects.
- Professional certifications such as NCIDQ, DBIA, CMAA, LEED, CM-Lean, PMP, Etc.
