Reporting to the Senior Director, Operational Excellence the candidate plays a crucial role in overseeing the development and execution of all initiatives related to building and asset management.
The role entails the leadership and development of a program to facilities support, playing a key role in attaining and surpassing objectives, which include decreasing breakdown, maintenance cost and operations cost while improving our environmental footprint.
The candidate continuously works in collaboration with the distribution centers (14) to coach, train and mobilize local teams ensuring adherence to the agreed best practices.
Ensure that principles are adopted, and asset management strategy are incorporated into the Distribution centers (DC) strategic plan and goals
Provide guidance and maintain the 5 years CAPEX plan
Act as a national superuser for the maintenance management system
Develop and implement KPIs related to maintenance
Conduct Business review with our key vendors
Oversee the execution of activities and procedures associated with the remodel DC projects including regulatory compliance, industry standards and government and municipal regulations
Advise on asset utilization and replacement to plan for capital needs by overseeing purchasing program, monitoring capital request for budget compliance and assisting other departments with the development of capital budget
Governance of the maintenance strategy to ensure distribution centers are maintained and functional by supporting resources to provide value-added support service for DC operations
Ensuring sound business practices to preserve the integrity of assets, driving improvement in equipment reliability
Standardize the development of tools that enable DC to track and analyze asset performance, utilization and operating expenses relative to maintenance activities
Provide recommendations for Maintenance, Purchasing & Contract Admin
Implement leading edge technologies required to remain competitive in existing and future logistics environment by developing relationships and interfacing with vendor partners in the material handling and facilities maintenance industry
Support sustainability initiatives that move the business toward our three aspirational goals while lowering operating cost
Establish collaborative partnerships with other members of the leadership team to better understand their needs and align on future requirements, ranging from standardization of processes, leveraging market practices to the optimization of the building and assets
Manage the operational relationship with key vendors
Coach and develop staff members to help raise level of competence
Ensure DC staff members receive the proper training and guidance to be able to effectively coach, train and mentor change agents within the business
Carry out objectives and foster a culture of excellence regarding building and asset management
Maintains relevant business knowledge and stays abreast of market and industry trends and conditions.
Acts as a McKesson ambassador of corporate values
Minimum 10-15 years of experience in building construction and maintenance, the majority (7+ years) in a multisite environment
Solid experience working with senior management
University degree in Business, Engineering or other related field of study
Personal Development and Soft Skills
Strong technical acumen
Excellent partnering and communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with various levels of management and employees
Bilingual in English and Fresh, both written and spoken is considered and asset
Proven track record in project management, expertise with cold storage, automation and high security environment
Analytical thinking, strong capability of problem-solving skills, sound judgment and a willingness to resolve issues and problems in a timely manner.
