The Department of Pediatrics within the IU School of Medicine is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner for Academic Administration to join our team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate skill in relationship development to deliver value-added service to leaders and employees that reflects the goals and objectives of the department. Primary Responsitbilities Include:
Lead recruitment processes for dually employed faculty and other faculty positions within the department. Serve as the department liaison in partnering with the division leadership, the IUHP Physician Recruitment Team, and the IUSM Dean's Office Recruitment Team on all other faculty recruitments.
Provide guidance to Department of Pediatrics faculty leadership and administrative team on the full cycle of the faculty recruitment process, faculty affairs policies and procedures, faculty benefits, and onboarding of new faculty.
Oversee and/or participate in department wide faculty-related projects and initiatives such as annual reviews, DEI, faculty development, and faculty wellness.
Partner with IUSM applications development team to drive improvements in academic administration systems utilized within the department.
Take the lead in administering annual Promotion & Tenure processes, including providing administrative direction to candidates and partnering with the Vice Chairs, Division Chiefs, and P&T Committee.
Utilizes and applies in-depth HR body of knowledge and skills to provide tactical guidance for HR related matters like salary administration, hiring, training, and policy interpretation.
Resolves and provides solutions for more complex employee relations issues with continued partnership, counsel, and support from COEs.
Collaborates and develops recruiting strategies to meet current and/or anticipated staffing needs; ensures recruiting and staffing needs are met in a timely manner.
Collaborates with other business partners and managers to improve and build effective relationships to improve employee engagement and identify "high priority" retention needs.
Coaches leaders to help determine best solutions regarding policy interpretation, performance issues, workforce planning, change management, conflict resolution to ensure alignment and consistency across the university.
Provides HR consulting and problem-solving solutions on issues to leaders and managers.
Collaborate with HR COEs to roll out and support university-wide initiatives, ensure client's needs are understood and met, and deliver change management interventions.
Provides support for ensuring an environment of diversity and inclusion.
Degree in Human Resources
3 years of Human Resources or related progressively responsible experience
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus.
