The Stanford Center for Professional Development in the School of Engineering seeks a Senior Creative Producer to lead, develop and execute digital media production assignments requiring advanced level skills from original concept through final implementation with limited oversight. Reporting Senior Director for Digital Media Creation and Strategy, the Senior Creative Producer partners with internal and external clients including senior leaders and faculty regarding digital media projects and services. The Senior Creative Producer also serves as an in-house digital media expert for the unit with time contribution split between project leadership and as a technical contributor.

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL:
Have a strong and diverse portfolio of past educational media projects
Be passionate about creating impactful learning experiences through digital media while creatively navigating time and budget constraints and maximizing available resources
Have prior experience managing a large portfolio of concurrent projects
Have past experience as a member of a digital media team (e.g. working together with editors, camera operators, etc.)
Have prior experience working at a college or university and successfully collaborating with faculty, instructors, and high-level administrators on projects
Be familiar with SCPD's product offerings
Build and manage productive relationships with a broad range of people, including faculty, academic staff, program managers, instructional designers, etc. - closely collaborating on creative approaches to meet learning goals with digital media, setting timelines, articulating the production process and expectations, communicating issues, providing status updates, and suggesting appropriate methods for improvement.
Develop overall themes for multi-faceted projects as well as individual concepts, and determine appropriate mediums and the effective use of resources.
Coordinate the pre-production process: work with faculty and instructors on concept development, scripts, and storyboards; create and communicate project scope and timelines; and manage deliverables within the resources allocated.
Coordinate the production process: schedule shoots and determine staffing needs to support them; uphold legal compliance standards and procedures; finalize deliverables with the teaching team; and post assets to internal or external media hosting platforms.
Organize the post-production of content and collaborate with the in-house post-production team and contractors: editing videos, adding slides and supplemental content, and encoding video resources to the right specifications.
Review cuts and provide consistent feedback.
Help faculty and instructors understand recording options available to them, and help them learn to record their lectures using the methods most appropriate to their needs.
Assist teaching team, including TAs, with video production tools and course platforms. Serve as the in-house digital media expert for a school/unit.
Act as a liaison with contractors and identify competitive pricing for products and services.
Work on technical projects requiring expertise and creativity in analysis and deployment of technology.
May lead and train other production staff.

Your responsibilities include
Plan, research, prepare and produce professional-quality digital media for instruction, promotional programs, location and studio programs, live video conferences and webcasts, live-on-tape studio, and/or other communicative purposes for both internal and external audiences.
Play an active role in planning, advising and partnering with clients on strategic and creative projects requiring extensive subject matter knowledge within time and cost constraints.
Take independent ownership of large, complex digital media projects. Perform the full range of the digital media project cycle: initiating, planning, producing, refinement, delivery, and archiving.
Create and oversee the creation of original visual content and produce high impact visual storytelling. Manage process from conception, to production, to completion across a diverse array of communications channels and media utilizing best practice standards that foster photographic and video excellence.
Consult with, and help faculty and staff to incorporate digital media into research projects, presentations, course design and curricula in support of student learning or departmental communication goals.
Manage all aspects of capturing, recording, and transmitting of all digital media productions, video and/or images for internal and external clients.
May serve as internal project leader and provide guidance and training to other staff.

Education & Experience (Required)
Bachelor's degree and seven years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
Certifications and Licenses:
The ability to manage a variety of complex, highly creative projects with changing priorities, deadlines, and faculty and staff needs
Experience working on multiple projects concurrently, including a commitment to meeting timelines and proactively communicating delays or issues
The ability to think creatively in project conceptualization as well as finding solutions to problems
Strong sense of aesthetics demonstrated through graphic design, typography, styling, etc.
Demonstrated experience with concept creation and production process
Excellent interpersonal skills and positive service-oriented attitude; sensitive to faculty needs and expectations; mature judgment and developed diplomacy skills; demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships
Prior experience working with editors - deep knowledge of Premiere and After Effects preferred
Strong knowledge of digital asset management, color correction and audio mixing, and production techniques
Advanced technical experience using production equipment including field and studio cameras, sound and lighting equipment, camera workflows, video creation and editing software, and encoding best practices and video compression formats
Strong ability to perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to lead a small team on complex productions - a self-starter who can work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Experience working with high-level talent preferred
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (Required)
Expert level technical experience using digital media equipment, video creation, editing software, and/or motion graphics and effects software.
Comprehensive knowledge in production techniques including videography, compression and file delivery and other production formats.
Extensive knowledge of all aspects of professional quality productions, including field and studio camera, lighting, sound and editing,
Proven savvy and understanding of the online video environment and online distribution.
Ability to independently manage a variety of simultaneous projects within tight deadlines, excellent organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated experience leading and training others.
Ability to communicate and articulate digital media products and options and adapt to alternatives when appropriate.
Excellent interpersonal skills, mature judgment, and diplomacy required to interact effectively with and provide customer service to a broad audience, including high-level executives and faculty.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Experience planning, coordinating, and executing archival digitization projects.
Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class license.
