Focus of the Position (PBM Analytics)
Our PBM Analytics team is tasked with optimizing our ability to engage with our 100M+ Caremark members to help them make better healthcare decisions, particularly relating to the medications they take. Our goals are to improve clinical outcomes and to help members gain more transparency into the healthcare system so that they can save money and have better experiences. To do this weâ™ve developed a leading capability that combines data science, agile marketing, behavioral economics, large scale experimentation, and optimization of our digital capabilities. Through this we message millions of members each year about real challenges they face and help them become healthier or save money â“ we drive tangible and meaningful impact for our members.
â¢ A typical campaign for us would include developing a set of predictive models that identify specific members to message at the right moment, a suite of creative tactics with varying behavioral economics principles to deliver content, and the use of a large number of channels and apps in a highly coordinated and journey based fashion -- all deployed by our team. For example, we might start by developing a model to predict likelihood of disease progression for members with a highly complex condition, and partner with MDs, PharmDs, marketers, and product owners to identify interventions we can test to help these members make the right healthcare decisions and impact their health trajectory.
â¢ Our organization can launch campaigns in as little as six weeks and then over time will optimize and tune them; we currently maintain and optimize a portfolio of over one hundred very specific behavioral campaigns. We are constantly expanding and seeking to develop new campaigns and develop our ability to maximize behavior change by improving our ability to engage across channels and increasingly have a large focus on doing this through our apps.
â¢ Our work encompasses identifying impactful behaviors to target, designing campaigns for them, optimizing those campaigns, and optimizing our overall functionality to do so.

â¢Partners with key stakeholders and executives across product, marketing, clinical, digital, and data engineering functions to identify evolving business needs that can be addressed with advanced analytics, frames problems into analytic questions, and translates analytics into business value. â¢Actively influences the strategic analytics agenda, developing compelling ideas to test and effectively building consensus around them. â¢Leads a team of data scientists by helping design, scope, and deliver analytics projects and experiments. â¢Applies analytical rigor and statistical methods to analyze large amounts of data, using advanced statistical techniques. â¢Manages large and complex analytical projects from data exploration, model building, performance evaluation and testing. â¢Packages insights and results into compelling stories and presents them to executive audiences. â¢Behaves as mentor to junior team members to provide technical advice.
Required Qualifications â¢ 5+ years of business experience leading analyses and initiatives with track record of business impact. â¢ 5+ years of leadership experience â¢ 5+ years of experience strategy consulting or on strategy teams in large companies
Preferred Qualifications â¢ Expert communicator. Able to engage effectively with junior and senior stakeholders alike, explaining complex technical ideas to non-technical business partners in written and verbal form. â¢ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. â¢ Strong organizational, management and leadership skills. Demonstrated experience leading analytics teams. â¢ Deep knowledge of advanced analytics tools and languages to analyze large data sets from multiple data sources as well as proficiency in mathematical analysis methods, machine learning, statistical analyses, and predictive modeling. â¢ Solid understanding of health care industry, products, and systems. â¢ Management consulting experience a plus. â¢ Digital marketing, marketing analytics, healthcare, pharmacy, clinical, or PBM experience a plus
Education Bachelor's degree in quantitative field, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience. Master's degree in quantitative field or MBA strongly preferred.
