The Project Manager reports to senior Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) faculty member Marshall Ganz and performs a wide range of complex programmatic, strategic, administrative, research, and financial functions related to the Professor Ganz's portfolio of teaching, research, and practice.
The responsibilities of the Project Manager include, but are not limited to:
Manage two courses taught by Professor Ganz, including revising, updating, and adapting course materials, and managing course websites.
Support teaching teams of five or six teaching fellows per semester.
Collaborate with Executive Education on managing of semester long distance learning course.
Liaise with Harvard schools and other area universities on the enrollment of students in Professor Ganz's courses.
Gather, analyze, and report on all options on policy, administrative or research questions.
Collaborate with the Office of Teaching Support on teaching requirements and finances.
Manage incoming teaching requests & opportunities, scope projects and build strategy and teams for their respective work plans
Manage key research projects, including processing research term appointments and onboarding of research fellows.
Manage IRB processes for all research projects, interacting with outside consultants and the Harvard Human Research Protection Program staff.
Manage pre and post survey distribution for the Public Narrative Research Project for all courses and narrative workshops, using Qualtrics. Able to analyze data.
Collaborate with research team on strategic initiatives to scale the pedagogy of practice.
Manage practice opportunities including requests for consultation, speaking, coaching, and training: understanding them, evaluating them, and prioritizing them.
Manage a database of over 8000 community leaders and academics as well as web and social media presence.
Provide support on strategic planning, creative ideation, making findings accessible and actionable, and designing a growth strategy for scaling existing partnerships
Manage the application, development, and administration of research grants, funding arrangements, and special projects.
Present information, research, statistics and analysis on all funds, and make decisions on expenditures.
Recruit, hire, orient and supervise research assistants, temporary employees, and fellows, both domestic and international.
Manage staff and have high administrative proficiency in order to provide coverage, as needed, including complex scheduling, corresponding with students and others, and coordinating technical and communication systems.
This position is a fully benefits eligible term appointment ending one year from date of hire, with the strong possibility of renewal.

Salary Range: $61,400 - $100,600 Note: Starting salaries typically fall in the lower half of the salary range; however, they are ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity.

Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in increasingly responsible administrative positions in academia, business, government or non-profit environment. Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Suite, Outlook Calendars, and Zoom.
Capacity to manage multiple time limited activities with calmness, deliberation and resilience.
Very strong administrative, organizational, and procedural practices including self-organization, time management, financial management and attention to detail.
Ability to exercise independent leadership, prioritize multiple tasks, and work collaboratively with a variety of constituencies.
Must take initiative and be proactive in accomplishing objectives, finding creative solutions to problems when necessary
Must develop and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues in order to achieve goals.
Position requires the ability to work effectively under pressure, adjust to frequently changing work assignments, and remain flexible and positive in the face of changing needs.
Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
Facility with digital information technologies including databases, web editing with WordPress, project management systems, and online communication.
Experience in strategic planning and experience in managing teams is a plus.
Good sense of humor, passion for social justice, interest in learning.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience with Dropbox, Salesforce, and Canvas helpful.
