The People Development Specialist is part of the People & Organization Development team and serves as an internal consultant for the FPO ambulatory practices and related CUIMC clinical departments. Under the supervision of the Director, People Development, the Specialist will assess, evaluate, and design talent management strategies that proactively address improvement opportunities needed in order to achieve the organization???s mission and vision, and its people strategy. The scope of the mentioned strategies involves workforce planning, attracting good talent through recruitment and selection, developing leadership and succession planning, developing talent through ongoing learning opportunities, managing performance related to productivity/efficiency improvements, compensating appropriately, and recognizing and rewarding high performance.
The ideal candidate will be experienced in Talent Management and OD principles, as well as continuous improvement methodologies and strategies, and have specific expertise in operational and/or clinical processes in the ambulatory setting. The Specialist of People Development will partner with the leadership in ColumbiaDoctors FPO to support the execution of change and optimization portfolios from the people perspective and will be a strategic partner in designing and implementing people development projects.
Supports the practices??? efforts to improve the patient, provider, and staff experiences guides them in implementing optimized talent management strategies and aligns goals designed to improve care delivery, maximize revenue and ensure regulatory compliance in an ambulatory practice setting.
Supports the People Development team on identifying future improvement opportunities through ongoing dialogue with practice and department leaders. Supports the documentation of these opportunities and supports the execution of business cases to help the organization to meet its vision and mission, as well as, to increase patient satisfaction and employee engagement.
Participates in conducting impact analyses, creating mitigation strategies, and identifying key stakeholders, in alignment with the organization???s people strategy.
Research, apply and communicate talent management best practices and develop appropriate transition plans to move the institution toward accomplishing the organization???s goals.

Travels to practices to interact with clients by providing onsite training and support, conduct observations, and perform additional tasks as needed.
Leverages technology solutions to solve key inefficiencies and create opportunities to streamline and improve existing/new Talent Management processes.
Applies process improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to analyze problems and propose solutions.
Participates in recruiting, developing and maintaining an internal network of end-users to support ongoing Talent Management transformative work.

Builds and maintains relationships with stakeholders at all levels to assess, adopt, improve and support the implementation of new Talent Management processes to help the organization achieve its people strategy.
Collaborates closely with other P&OD teams to coordinate comprehensive and holistic approaches to implement changes and optimizations.
Supports the creation of business cases that clearly demonstrate project ROI and alignment with organization and department goals.
Supports the development of an organizational culture of accountability and proactivity.
Proactively participates in the design of the People Development strategy, vision, and mission.
Collaborates, and builds strong relationships with People & Organization Development and FPO HR team members, and with peers in FPO???s other business units (Access & Patient Experience, Practice Operations, HIM, Quality & Patient Safety, Revenue Cycle, and Human Resources), EpicTogether and with clinical department leadership to develop new improvement opportunities and initiatives.
Is considered a knowledgeable person for People Development strategies.
Supports project KPIs, measures success metrics, and monitor progress.
Provides support on reporting ROI and progress of each business cases in their portfolio.
Tracks and reports issues
Collaborates with the central PMO on analyzing business cases and prioritization models, and to report back on execution and progress of the approved project.
Compliance with all federal, state, and city regulations and laws.
Bachelor???s degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalency in education and experience
Minimum of 4 years of related work experience in a healthcare setting.
Strong conceptual understanding of methodologies and models to execute on Talent Management process redesign, project management, and build & configuration activities
Experience on delivering transformational and optimization projects and understanding of change management methodology, discipline and/or strategies.
Strong sense of teamwork.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with multiple disciplines within the practice setting ??? physicians, nurses, office Assistant Directors, etc.
