The UW Foster School of Business has an exciting opportunity for a Web Content Producer to join our creative and collaborative marketing and communications team. The Web Content Producer, under the direction of the Director for Marketing Operations and working closely with the Online Marketing Team, is responsible for producing content for the Foster School of Business website, intranet, blog, social media and additional digital communications that reach key Foster School stakeholders. The ideal candidate will appreciate the importance of quality content to user engagement and have a good understanding of the elements (e.g. descriptions, pictures, graphics) required to produce it.
The ideal candidate will be flexible, quick-thinking, efficient, and able to work independently, sometimes under pressure, while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal skills are a must as this position interacts with many different audiences to glean information.
Candidates should have demonstrated success in packaging stories, photos, audio, and video from multiple sources.
Duties and Responsibilities
Web Production & Maintenance- 50%
Update and publish site content in WordPress (features, blog posts, news items, research summaries, graphics, etc.) according to content plans developed by MarComm staff and stakeholders.
Monitor the daily queue of minor web change requests and make updates as required
Produce and promote content changes and new content on the school's website and social media outlets following content plans and guidelines developed by the online marketing team in support of academic departments, programs, and centers.
Execute reports and analyses on a regular basis to inform online strategy.
Use search engine optimization (SEO) guidelines and web analytics to inform decisions about content development and promotion.
Assist with coordination and implementation of improvements in design, content, and usability.
Collaborate as needed with colleagues in MarComm on technical website issues and updates.
Contribute to a culture of innovation and teamwork with measurable positive results
Creating and Producing Content- 40%
Produce graphics for use on the web and email
Assist in and facilitate the production of e-newsletters and other outbound communication using appropriate platforms.
Other Duties as Assigned- 10%
Attend department functions and meetings.
Compile occasional reports and analyses of competitive and industry trends.

Bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or related field.
Experience in Web content and production, copywriting, graphic design, project coordination, and marketing.
Experience with and ability to use content management tools, specifically Wordpress.
Understanding of and experience with common web development tools.
Demonstrated communications skills, including online editing, image editing, and writing skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others.
Strong interest in web-based communications and knowledge of web editing skills.
Strong organizational skills, initiative, creativity, and resourcefulness.
Ability to perform as an effective team member while handling independent projects and responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated passion for creating a world-class customer-facing user experience and have a desire to develop creative ideas, concepts, and new ways of doing things.
