The Educational Technology Specialist (ETS) is responsible for implementing, supporting, and enhancing the technology systems of Academy Prep (AP). As the first line of IT support for teachers, students, and staff, this position focuses on desktop and application support, while occasionally assisting the Technology Coordinator (TC) with maintenance of critical network components, systems, infrastructure, and applications. The ETS also works in concert with the TC & school faculty to ensure that classroom technology enhances the overall educational program. This position will be responsible for all educational technology training for classroom personnel, and will assist faculty with the development and implementation of the school’s STEM education program.
Required Technical Skills and Experience
Working knowledge of macOS, iOS, ChromeOS, and Win10.
Experience troubleshooting or repairing personal computers, laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
Working knowledge of Google Workspace apps, Google Admin console, Google Classroom, Google Chrome and Google Drive File Stream.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience working with Student Information and Learning Management Systems.
Experience managing devices with a mobile device management system (MDM).
Familiarity with network troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures, network protocols (DNS, TCP/IP and DHCP), and network hardware components (switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.).
At least 1 year of technical support experience.
K-12 teaching, teacher training, or instructional design experience, especially in STEM, computer science, robotics, or other technology courses would be a plus!
