The Italian Department at Rutgers University announces one 3 cr.-course for a Part-Time Instructor in Fall 2021. This position is for a scholar who specializes in Italian culture and Digital Humanities. The successful candidate will design and teach a course titled Hacking the Humanities, where students will examine and discuss the ways in which technology (analog and digital) has changed the study of Italian literary texts. Additional topics should include analysis of digital projects and hands-on experience with coding or other digital tools. The course will meet online, Wednesdays, 3:00-4:20PM, while the second weekly class will be asynchronous. Besides teaching, perform services associated with that course, such as preparation of syllabus, grading examinations and papers, and meeting students during assigned office hours. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Must have a Masters or Doctoral degree, as well as prior teaching experience.
