The Business Process Analyst Associate supports the Office of Human Resources (HR) as the HR Operations liaison to other HR divisions, Northwestern Information Technology (NIT), and HR system users. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing, maintaining, and providing support for new and existing business processes supported by HR systems. The incumbent coordinates with the HR Service Center Manager and their staff to support the daily operations and reporting of the Center.
Process Testing and Training
Records, prioritizes, and tracks incoming business process enhancement requests. Gathers required documentation and facilitates project management as enhancements are reviewed and developed.
Maintains test scripts, participates in preliminary testing and validation for system enhancements, and coordinates system testing across HR divisions. Facilitates and documents User Acceptance Testing, evaluating, consolidating and reporting user feedback.
In collaboration with the HR Training team, assists with the development and delivery of initial trainings and supporting documentation for new or enhanced processes. Ensures smooth transition of new training courses to the HR Training team.
Acts as the liaison between HR Operations and HR Training to ensure system processes are properly documented, course content is maintained, user issues are addressed through training updates, and course completion is tracked.
Coordinates and facilitates quarterly town hall meetings to keep system users and administrators informed about enhanced processes, new system functionality, and recurring business processes.
Reporting and Analytics
Reviews, investigates, and prioritizes all HR reporting, data, and query requests. Works with HR Operations staff to assign and track development of all new queries.
Maintains a list of existing reports and queries; regularly reviews existing queries and their output for accuracy.
Assists with the development of new queries, including gathering requirements, validating data, and analyzing results.
Runs regular reports for HR divisions and central administration units.
Supports the daily operations of the HR Service Center with project management and analytics, and serves as a primary front-line backup to the Support Center Coordinators.
Assists with Tier 2 support for HR systems, recording issues and escalating to Business Process Analysts, other HR divisions, or NIT as necessary.
Maintains website content for system-related procedures, announcements, and data. Provides backup assistance to web content editors in other HR divisions.
Maintains internal and external documents and forms that support HR Operations processes.
Develops communications for HR process updates and announcements. Works with communications representatives in HR and the Office of the Senior Vice President as the delegate for HR Operations.

A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or the equivalent years of experience and education from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired
Four years of experience in Human Resources and HR systems administration, particularly PeopleSoft HCM.
Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of products; form creation with Adobe Acrobat; typing, grammar, spelling, and punctuation; and oral and written communications.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills and tactful in dealing with people.
Knowledge of SQL and experience querying and analyzing data.
Understanding of basic HTML and experience using a content management system.
