The Director of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (ID&E) oversees the implementation of Dana Farber???s ID&E strategy and actions. This role ensures initiatives, policies and processes are not only developed but also effectively integrated into the culture, processes, practices and daily Institute operations. Directly reporting to and in collaboration with the VP, Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer, partners with the ID&E, HR, and institutional leaders to assess organization and departmental needs and set short and long-term strategies and solutions. ????
This position is located in Boston, MA, and the selected candidate must be available to work partially onsite every week.??

Oversees Dana Farber???s ID&E strategy and actions implementation ??
Ensures the successful implementation of Dana Farber???s ID&E strategy by conveying the overarching vision, securing resources, ensuring engagement of ID&E Action implementation teams, and serves as project planning/implementation support.
Consults department and/or teams to integrate ID&E practices into their operations. Supports their action planning efforts, defines measures of success, and ensures long-term adoption and sustainability of the work.
Collects, analyzes, measures, and reports on ID&E metrics to determine effectiveness of programs and initiatives. Identify lessons learned and improvement plans as necessary
Drives ID&E Communications:
Partners with Chief Diversity Officer and Communications to develop and implement an overarching strategy that communicates vision & progress, drives staff/ faculty ownership, and creates a call to action in an authentic way. Is directly responsible for:
Overseeing Intranet and DFCI website ID&E presence
Defining standard cadence of messaging and integrates all relevant stories
Creating a leadership story and presence in support of ID & E efforts.
Provides input and review on critical internal and external messaging. Ensures an ID&E lens is considered and integrated into all aspects of Dana Farber???s communications (campaigns, signage, collaterals, etc.).
Represents the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy and goals with internal and external stakeholders.
?? Builds ID&E Know-How:
Oversees institute-wide inclusion and anti-racism education curriculum ??? In partnership with L&OD and ID&E Program Manager, develops learning experiences focused on inclusive leadership, bystander/upstander awareness, unconscious bias, racial justice and cross-cultural/race discussions. Supports the integration of ID&E lens in all professional development programs. Advances new ways of educating through technology as appropriate.
Oversees the evolution of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to Business Resource Groups (BRGs). Ensures these groups are leveraged to drive operational outcomes while enhancing our patient and employee experiences. Engages and motivates leadership while providing guidance, and direction. Ensures the groups have the appropriate resources and level of influence within the organization.
Develops cultural programming to connect staff from diverse cultural backgrounds, celebrate diversity, and encourage dialogue and understanding
Increases Access to Careers and Advancement for Underrepresented Groups ??
Partners with L&OD and Director of Inclusion and Workforce Development to support programs designed to address advancement opportunities for underrepresented employees in pursuit of middle and upper management (i.e. Sponsorship programs)
Partners with Talent Acquisition and Director of Inclusion and Workforce Development to cultivate underrepresented job candidates and build strategic alliance framework with HBCUs and other minority serving organizations to increase representation.
Partners with key stakeholders across the organization on employee engagement strategy to help build communities and culture, in addition to improving DFCI cultural practices.
Leads Team and Stays Current:
Researches and identifies inclusion, diversity, and equity emerging trends and best practices in healthcare.
Coaches faculty, staff, and employees across Dana-Farber to define and meet ID&E goals and objectives.
Manages budget and works with maximum efficiency with existing resources. Innovates and experiments with new methodologies.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or related field of study.?? Direct progressive experience in leading ID&E project implementation may substitute for degree.?? Additional ID&E or like certifications or advanced training a plus.??
7 years progressive experience in Inclusion, Diversity and Equity role/s with increased years??? experience directing, planning and executing complex institutional inclusion, diversity and equity projects. Team leadership, mentorship, coaching and management experience required.
Experience working in healthcare, academic, and/or complex matrixed environment strongly preferred
